I see a lot of people asking and talking about character visual customization. This is not possible.
From a technical standpoint, sure this is possible. However, Lore wise it wouldn't be really efficient. Capsuleers don't die nearly as much as us so they can do it. Plus they have the money to purchase expensive clones that are cosmetically accurate. For us it wouldn't make sense to worry about looks as its an almost absolute certainty that you're going to lose the clone at some point, so it's moot to worry about aesthetics (unless you're Amarr, then it matters. Gotta look good For the empress, right?)
It is cheaper and more efficient to just use generic clones that focus more on performance than appearance.
If you've never read the fiction on the main site,or Templar One, this is what they look like under the helmets.

I always kinda figured they'd look similar to 47 from the Hitman games, an even genetic blend that looked vaguely like every ethnic group, without really having any predominant discernable traits. But point well made, we Dust bunnies are far more disposable than our capsuleer counterparts.

I'd like to create a 'casual' clone appearance. These Clones would be useless in game, but on forums (and for those who RP) it would show a little more about how the character looks... Perhaps a Jacket, shades and an appearance that we make? Casual clones would be much more costly, but they also don't look like that bad guy from Harry Potter (don't really care for it, but I keep seeing the TV previews...) Anyway, the clones would be used for the forums... and no where else. the clone wouldn't be used for battle, but more peaceful events.
AND I BACKED THE FUCK DOWN.

Fair enough.
Really though, given the option I would love to see loyalty ranks displayed on these forums.

But when you are back on your home station you don't have to worry about losing your clone every couple of minutes, so it is worth shelling out the ISK for a custom clone when you are off duty. Just hook it up to life support before you accept a mission, and then you can reuse it when you get back.

According to the Templar One book the Merc clones are far different from the capusleer clones. in the book it describes that medic drones pretty much strip Vince (templar one) body and replace almost all of it with cybernetics, a bit like Robocop (the new one not the old one) whereas capsuleers are mor elike the implants from the Matrix.
this is basically down to replacing the blood with nano fluid in order for nanite injectors to repair the body/system. am sure the mercs face will be left as human looking as possible whereas their body is almost all mechanical
Never argue with an idiot. they bring you down to their level and beat you through experience

The bosy in the station could be he real, original person. You stay in your quarters and clones are grown that then have your consiousness transferred to them. A capsuleer could even have their original body on ice while even the original character body is a clone.
There really is no reason why you would have to travel from planet to planet. The clone pack is on the barge. Your updated conciousness is transferred upon accepting a contract. You stay in the comfort of your quarters while the clone bodies fight.

Hmm... the planet they're on contains biochemical warfare elements, the "ooze" that they activated. The movie hints that the biochemical warfare was created to wipe out our population on earth. Basically our creators were trying to destroy us and maybe inhabit earth but something went wrong before they could leave their planet.
Not sure it was surely a clusterfuck, but I thought it was great.
They should have kept it as an alien prequel.

It was supposed to be a prequel but they scrapped that, they should have made it a prequel maybe it would have made more sense.
