Some of the "new" footage was from B-roll of the latest patch. Only brand new stuff was the skill tree, which also had a glitch showing negative allocated skill points. Then they try and hook the viewer by showing off the success of EVE and compares it to Dust. In my opinion, that's not creating a trailer, that's just doing some editing work with voiceover. On the other hand, "This is EVE" perfectly captures the essence of the game on a whole new level by pulling a page from Planetside 2 and using the voice communications of actual players fighting actual battles. (I'm not sure if Planetside 2 was the first to do it, but it was my first exposure to this.) They pull the level of information down and show you how the battles went in beautiful CGI, putting away things overviews and spreadsheets and letting the viewer experience the feeling of torp-ing a Dominix, hearing the jargon of battle, a new player frantically figuring out how to warp, a bored fleet falling into a smartbomb trap, a lone explorer making away like a thief in the night with loot that Blackbeard could only dream of and 100 times that with another thief lurking behind him, a miner stripping away at a rock that would yield a huge fortune, showing the UI with explainations of what the player is building and how long it takes, followed by yet another fitting a ship, and finishing it off with a grand finale of a successful bombing run, with quick montages to other UI elements that EVE has to offer. It uses no reused property from other videos and has a massive amount of community contributed recordings of the different happenings in EVE. Quite frankly, it's a work of art, and one of the best trailers they have made by far. Before we can get a trailer similar to this in Dust, we must first have a game comparable to it. Not saying it's bad now, but I would like to take it a step further: I want to see the The Prophecy trailer done like "This is EVE" trailer. They don't want to spend company assets to promote what they consider a failed project, but its the only thing keeping their offices open at the same time. If they actually did make a trailer, it probably would mean Dust is going on PS4 and Legion is on the back burner (since, you know, it doesn't actually make money). There are many hours of waiting around trying to organize, bullshtting on coms, links to ***, links to girls and cups, mindless gate camping, etc. for every few minutes of action like you see in the trailer. I love EVE, don't get me wrong, but with DUST you can press a button and be in a fire fight in a couple of minutes. Best PvE idea ever!

What the F*** are you doing?!" couple years ago on EVE our FC had to take off cos his GF came round, he logged off EVE forgetting we were using Teamspeak. we were all treat to a rather shortlived 'encounter' with his gf followed by an arguement because he said he wanted to 'pop back on' to see if we were still in a fleet. safe to say he got a rather inspired round of applause and cheers from the 11 or so of us sat giggling away liek 5yr olds Never argue with an idiot. they bring you down to their level and beat you through experience proud C-II bpo owner
