It's probably your controller. I had one do that to me. I thought it was just dust, but tried the same controller in other games and similar things would happen with the actions associated with the right d-pad button.
Click it! I dare you...

They're seems to be a problem. but I am not sure. I often find myself wondering if CCP play tests there game. If they did, their wouldn't be nearly as many problems.
Mild joking aside, I haven't witnessed the map opening up for 'no reason' before. What exactly is happening? Perhaps your controller is sticking.
On a keyboard, it is more of a concern because tap opens your fitting screens and caps lock reloads. Even worse? "Crap! I hit tab! Escape! Escape!" Oh, I guess you hit Escape twice, so welcome to the Start Menu! Careful not to hit Escape twice again or you will come right back to it, even though there is a delay in leaving the menus that might make you think that the key didn't register.

I KNEW IT WASN'T JUST ME!
This has been killing me since 1.9 deployed, it's more likely to happen in the new maps I find, quick log in-out fixes er most the time.

At least your controller doesn't call an LAV mid-fight. My first one did that.
Not even sure either how it managed to pull out my fitting menu instantly.... My controller was possessed.
It even managed to close the game mid-match and open the network settings menu. HOW?

Nah man, I threw it out the garage door a while back, remember this was back when Lynn Beck wasn't even alive, I ran off my PSN name copy-pasted as a HMG sentinel...

It's because you're pressing L3.
you need to take your controller apart, and put some electric tape on the padding that has been worn.If you thicken it, you will avoid this problem.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

You dont even wanna know how many ADS`s I have lost over the course of the year to accidentally opening up the scoreboards or something.
Some dudes gave me the idea to open up the controller and give it a good clean out.

A long long time ago,
dust used to randomly remap some keys to open up the map for the duration of one match. And one match only.
Haven't seen this for a while.
People would enjoy Dust a lot more if they accepted the fact that EVERYTHING is subject to change

It's definitely not the controller. Sometimes it just.. pops up.
Take out all forms of scans and you'll see how great Dust can be.
Scrubs will cry, good players will love it.

The pad was almost new, but had the same problems.
The fix is rather easy, but if you don't feel comfortable with screwdrivers and tiny stuff, ask help to someone.
Situational awareness also known as passive scan.

My character used to throw grenades at random. I was convinced it was Dust's fault since I never had any issues with other games. I replaced the controller and never had the issue again.
If you want to be sure you should switch to a new DS3 and see if the problem continues. Strangely enough people who do this stop making these kind of threads... |

Swapped controls, played a different game that uses the D pad, back to dust and problems persist.
perhaps your control was indeed broken, this however is an entirely different problem.

I had the problem while in vehicles too.
I uninstalled then reinstalled. Did the trick. It was not my controller. |
