Neither is repairing someone for an infinite amount of time, so your objective obviously isn't making repair tools how they perform in EVE.

As a long term logistics pilot in eve (in the past) in both subcapital fights and captial triage reps I can safely say that this totally depends.

If you are in a Basilisk or Guardian (without some crazy unusual fit) you will need to be in a sustainable cap chain with at least one other logistics.

Onieros and especially my favourite, the Minmatar Scimitar logistics, can rep indefinitely as they are cap stable with top skills while even maintaining a proper tank and proper fit.

However I do think the idea has merit. It would be nice to see a burst type rep for repping installations, tanks and vehicles. Hell I would sit around inside the MCC repairing it if I could :D

EDIT - I agree with Mike`s post above, we really need a shield repair tool. Its honestly insulting to all shield tankers and eve players that we do not have one in dust yet.

I don't think this game will really be race balanced until we have something that helps boost shields quicker. Weather it's a nanohive or rep tool, shield tanking is currently not as good as armor tanking and that has everything to do with teamwork and logis. Shield tanks are pretty much useless to logi's with rep tools. Every now and then a guy will get on me in my Assault ck0 which usually has less than 300 armor. Needless to say I don't stick with the logi, my 300 gets dropped quickly when two guys are shooting on me even with reps. We could change all of that with a shield repair tool.

The simplest fix to the shield repair tool problem is to just make our current reppers rep both. I'd be fine with a separate one for each, but we've been asking for it for years and gotten nothing. At least you get shields back with the needle... If you call for it
