4 Flux scanners is better if you can camp a supply depot and refit.
2 flux is all you'll need for perma-scans. Keep focused on just in case some scouts get smart.
You can fit all that on a STD suit with an enhanced armor plate and complex rep btw, depending on you fitting skills.

Well, weapons and mods aside (didn't list any because they're irrelevant to what I wanted to know), what's with the 3? Is there some hope in there? |

So, 2 Flux and 2 Focused? I need a lolfit to scan everyone at all times, including scouts. I know I won't be getting all of them, but if I don't, chances are they're sacrificing too much and I'm okay with that. |

Use the SDT fit I posted above. Two fluxes is enough to perma scan everyone within 200m and if you get the "some margin for error" message, use the focused in that direction, and only costs like 84k. Stay away from the fighting since your range is so far.
I've noticed that the fluxes are usually enough to scan most scouts in Pubs.
If you're using a proto Gallogi, use your last slot for a rep tool or hive, one focused is enough (and expensive).

Given how you have 4 ACSs, you won't be able to do much slaying and you definitely won't be able to repair someone or drop links on the objective. Fielding you would be a waste of space.
I could on the other hand, field an Amarr Scout which has similar levels of db while also being better in terms of mobility, can kill enemies effectively, and can drop links.

I guess for the laughs is a good fit but, for practicality sakes it is an awful fit. Scanning is not as useful as you might think and even if you can scan that elusive scout you still have to kill it which is actually the hard part. I've seen a guy that doesn't even run cloaks on a minmatar scout. He just puts in kinkats and a nova knife. he killed 30 plus in a domination. that was the one with the bridge which is a mostly open area.
My advice is to always equip a repair tool. Scanner is really optional but, since you are gallente then might as well but all you need is one. you don't need to scan everybody. You just need to scan most people say 90%. Same goes for the scouts. You don't need to be able to hide from every single person. All you need is to be able to hide from about 90%. So what if one guy can see you? Just shoot him. Dead man tell no tales. Similarly with the scanner. If you can't scan the bugger then just keep an eye for him. When your team is aware they will look for him and he can't hide forever. Anyways, you have 2 equipments. If you are on a PC battle or at the start of a battle then carry links. otherwise hives. Of course, you need the injector to revive people. In all my logi fits (I just use the advance unless I'm on a PC or on faction day. I always carry repair tool and an injector. The 3rd slot is what changes based on the battle need. It is usually a scanner or links.
In short, the scan is useful but, not the most important part because the problem is not necesarily being able to see the enemy but rather them shooting. |

Well, yeah, in that case it's bad, but completely not the point of it.
I just want to know how effective it would be to the team if the only reason why you're there is for scans.
Assume everyone is well supplied, and have decent repair rates thanks to modules or other logis.
As for the Amarr Scout, hmm. Guess you're right. Would the Amarr eventually be better than a 4x Duvolle Focused Gk.0 in terms of covering areas and providing scans? Keep in mind, the scout can only provide scans for up to 5 people, while scanners provide intel for the whole team. |

I'm skilled into Gallente Logistics 3 and Active Scanners 3. I have almost enough SP to get both to 5, but am wondering if it's fun, great for lazy people, and effective enough to at least help out the team against enemy scouts with Perma-Scans. |
