They traverse the battlefield in LAV's, HAV's and Dropships killing people that are easy to kill and going back into their vehicle if you get close to killing them. You can't even run away from them even if you're using the fastest suit in the game because one shot from their HMG quickly drops your speed to a crawl. No to mention that they maintain their effectiveness well beyond the range of any Assault weapon and nearly competes with the range of the Scrambler Rifle. Basically a full Auto shotgun with realistic range.
Way more of an issue than wanna be scouts who think that I can't see them just because they cloak: turning bluish isn't making you invisible.

Whilst I think the hmg has too much range (IMO) saying it competes with the range of most rifles is pretty crazy.
Da only good Amarr is a ded Amarr, an de ony fing betta than a ded one, is a dyin one who tells ya were 'is mates is!

I think if any military was dumb enough to develop such an impractical weapon for personal defense they could. Cue Vietnam War era ammo pack. Military grade current exoskeleton. And this with more barrels.

DUST isn't real life though.
HMG shreds my shotgun scout in about 1.5 seconds, and if they have logis on them? Forget about it!
The only counter to HMG is another HMG, if the scout can't get 3 shots on the heavy before he turns around and insta melts him.

Least you can see a heavy... with a scout the only way to tell they were there is you looking at the bleedout screen =.=

REVISION: I'm not saying that heavies or scouts are OP because they aren't, but heavies are harder to deal with than scouts.
Nope, that lag+invisibilitzy+shotgun is still more OP than minmatar mg

HMG's no longer slow you down and have not for at least two months.
Combat rifles, rail rifles, scrambler rifles, sniper rifles, plasma rifles, nova knives, plasma cannons, shotguns, forge guns, bolt pistols, magsec smgs and direct mass driver hits are all effective at killing heavy's from outside the optimal range of a HMG there is no requirement to keep a HMG heavy within your optimal range concentrated fire at fall off is more then effective.
HMG Heavy's with logi using teamwork to hold a interior objective? Go around go over go under learn how fast units can move! Use range to your advantage use scouts to cut down enemy equipment and logis use vehicles to apply pressure for a flanking maneuver. Most of all use teamwork. |

When did nova knives become throwable? Or a shotgun having an effective range of 75m? Accirding to the above statment they are outside of hmg effective range. |

Thank you for catching that i have clarified my statement about shotguns and nova knives. HMG Optimal is not 75m its more like 52m maybe less i do not have a devblog source but that is the optimal on protofits for a boundless. |

I am not saying it is impossible to counter heavies. Rather, I am stating that they are a much greater menace to face than scouts. Also on suits using vehicles, one must note that this tactic is most useful on heavies who have such high HP that even multiple shots on target won't down them and this large pool of health allows these menaces to escape if they're out matched.

I think heavies are doing exactly what they should, turning everything in front of them into little more then a pulp. Fitting folders CCP.
Scouts doing what there supposed to do if fitted properly, being undetectedable staying out of sight hacking stuff, HFTs, providing intel and distraction etc. Fitting folders CCP.
Commandos can fufill so many roles thanks to two light weapon slots and equipment slot that i want to skill into each of them to see how many combos i can come up with. Fitting folders CCP.
Assaults are good for killing and covering flanks. Pretty simple. Fitting folders CCP.
Logis good for anything equipment based but fragile required support to give support. Fitting folders CCP.
If hou do all these roles alternating between each SEVERAL times PER match you need Fitting folders. They all do there roles properly IMHO which is why i think, if we had folders for our fits people would run different fits instead of spamming certain suits all the time. Im looking at you CCP.

Agreed they are much harder to kill one on one then a scout. A one or two second animation for exiting or entering vehicals may be a way to fix this issue.
As a minmando i just shoot a volley of swarms or a plc bolt at the lav if that dos not get the message across the cr or acr usually finishes the lav off and the explosion kills the heavy. Solo a heavy or three in a lav is a problem in a squad its not a issue we down the lav kill the heavy's then pick up any of ours that have fallen. |

Shooting someone's head while they are driving an LAV is most certainly difficult, unless the LAV isn't moving. Don't try to make out that you are amazing and can headshot heavies out of LAVs every time. You probably just did it that one time.
#2. Almost every map in this game is designed so that there are areas where only short range weapons are effective. Any half decent heavy will just stick to the CQC areas and avoid open ground where a longer ranged weapon can damage him.
#3. Yes shotguns and NKs can be good counters, providing the heavy hasn't already munched you in 0.3 seconds with his minigun, or turns around after you shotgun him in the back and munches you in 0.3 seconds with his minigun.
#4. Teamwork is much easier said than done when your team is almost entirely made up of useless blueberries that do nothing helpful, which seems to be the case in about 80% of games. And if you do have some buddies and decide to work together, what's the best strategy to beat the heavy+logi combo?? You get a heavy and a logi and give them a taste of their own medicine! Which is kind of the problem and is the reason we are playing Heavy 514. |

1.I am amazing yes. I blow my self up with my own mass driver nearly every match i derp my bus into my own mcc every second match. But i can still hit a heavy enough while hes approaching to kill him when he jumps out. Do i win every time? No. But a solo heavy is vulnerable even in a lav.
2.Any area in a map that a heavy/logi combo can use as a choke point can be flooded with assault mass driver fire to the point that the logi and equipment all dies and the heavy is flushed out into cross fire.
3.That is the heavy's role.
4.The fact that pubs and facwar match's are full of 'useless' blueberries is a organizational and communications failing not a balance issue. Think how awesome dust would be with MAG style communications options. The best option for a heavy/logi combo is a flanking maneuver. The simplest is a Heavy/logi combo. |

This statement has nothing to do with Sentinels and HMG. It could work with ANY suit. "They pop out and attack people that are easy to kill and then drive away." Honest, any suit could do this.

Yes, Heavies are more difficult to deal with than Scouts in my opinion. 3 Heavies guarding the Domination Point is a nightmare to deal with. However, your post doesn't really go about expressing your opinions in a cogent manner. The first part is more of a complaint about vehicles and targets of opportunity. The next two are complaints about the HMG that I have not seen happen in a while. The final part is a conclusion that is, I am assuming, based on the faulty prefixes above.
