Increase time before detonation. Right now they go off faster than a cooked grenade
Yes, I'm trolling. Get over it.

I run with a squad. Every time. Remotes detonate too fast. Bottom line. When a scout chucks one in a doorway a heavy does not have enough time to even think about moving. |

Easy when the opposing squad or person mis-step or fall back into another member, yup. Smart players are harder to catch off guard. Bumping into other players nothing. Have you ever used an amarr sentinel? They don't move in meters per second like your scout, they move in seconds per meter. |

Oh and guess what, I kill plenty of heavies with my min assault / CR so stfu remotes are the only counter to heavies |

Another thing, you guys say run with a squad, when scouts are the biggest lone wolves of them all |

You know why remote explosives are used so much? Heavies. That's the only hope a scout or a medium suit have against an armor tanked juggernaut with a proto HMG. You don't like being killed by them but I don't like being killed by 7 heavies standing in front of an objective.
I also don't care much for being killed by shotgun scouts...but that's par for the course.
But remote explosives are fun....and they do make a sound when they're dropped. That's why its hard to sneak up on snipers with them....well, its not that hard but people who pay attention always move lol
Yesterday was a banner day for me...I dropped 3 remote explosives strategically and when all the heavies flooded into the objective where I knew they would be I detonated. I killed 8 of them in ONE shot with F/45 remote explosives.
and then spent the rest of the match getting mowed down by heavy spam and cloaked shotgun scouts....what can you do? A good heavy will not fall for it. They'll hear the remote sound and instantly back up a few paces, shoot the RE or flux it. and sometimes if they're in a long corridor they will ACTIVELY search for remotes on the ground or walls and shoot those. Those heavies are the ones I can say impress me because they're self-aware and are hard as **** to take down. Most times I'll opt out and just go find a different target, one who's not smart and stupid... there are a bunch around LOL.
You're not getting it at all. An amarr sentinel can start moving away while it's still in the air and not have enough time to move. But I understand your determination to prove you're right because if they take away your crutch you will simply suck |

As a heavy, I am struggling very hard to deal with these and they are causing the vast majority of my deaths because they excel in the area where heavies are supposed to excel. Is there anyway as a heavy (with no scanner support cause all my friends left this game) to deal with these? Should they add sound for when they are dropped so we can actually hear them? I would say that accurately about 80% of my deaths this last week have all been to remote explosives, and even with being stupidly careful at looking for them (which gives you a disadvantage against everything else because it will take you a second to bring up the aim again, I still struggle with them . Any suggestions on how to improve this? The guy that used the remove explosives last game went about 52 - 1. -.- Use them and you will stop hating them. I love making vehicles go boom with them. I don-Št run Scout so i almost never get infantry kills with them, but i use my rifle to kill those. An excellent example of what they are meant for. I commend you on using remotes properly |

They have dampening and speed. If YOU run as a lone wolf, you WILL get shotgunned in the back. Run damps, or run with a group. Lone heavies are asking to get shotgunned or Knifed. Well no s#!t sherlock but that's not the point here |

But I understand your determination to prove you're right because if they take away your crutch you will simply suck You think RE's are a crutch? Is my rifle a crutch too? Are grenades a crutch? Nanohives? You are a sheep who hears others use the words "scrub" and "crutch" and "tryhard" and then throws them around with little to no thought because you have no real ideas of your own. Ohhh... I really struck a nerve didn't I? Look at you get all upset. Let me give you a QQ. Oh wait I'm being a simple sheep again. And who said anything about rifles, nanohives and grenades? You are obviously confused and insist on defending, and I'm going to be a sheep again, defending your scrub tactics. Re's are ruining the game for everyone. They need to be toned down just like anything else that is op. Wait, does saying op make me a sheep too? Damn, I didn't invent any of the words in this conversation. Neither did you. Guess we're all sheep.... |

And listen. I hate nerfing. I really do. I have no other complaints in this game beyond re's and the stupid people that defend them to the death. I have no problems with a strategically placed re waiting for someone to come along and go boom. I have no problem with re's blowing up vehicles but when a scout can toss an re down from above and have it detonate as soon as it hits the ground, then I have a problem. |

Any suit with an equipment slot can use RE's. As you put it, "when a scout can toss an re down from above and have it detonate as soon as it hits the ground..." I just realized it's scouts you have issues with. You are just choosing to complain about Re's when it's really scouts, isn't it? What kind of suit do you play in, Robin William's Ghost? I am curious. Tell the good folks on this thread what suit you use most often. Ok, I admit that i did make it sound like I have a problem with scouts. I don't. I said scouts because that's typically who is using them. Otherwise I have no problems with scouts. As far as what suits I run, I have: Full proto min logi Full proto min assault Full proto min commando Full proto min sentinel Full proto amarr sentinel Soon to be full proto min scout I'm not new to the game, I'm not against scouts, I always run with a squad and I'm sick of Damn remotes. We regularly clear rooms packed with heavies without dropping a single remote. |
