Why do you die so much? Why have you brought your friends 1-15 and 2-13. I see you around, not in every match but when you show up I have to say I am not happy. Hate to break it to you but its your fault we are losing, when you bring your friends its even worse. I ask if you are going to try and play, please try and be productive. Run a rep tool, drop nano hives, or be a human shield. I never see you die when I am on the point so that means your not dieing in a productive way. Take one for the team and take the RE to the face or the bullet in the back. Just do something productive and STOP DIEING.
Can the other voices in other peoples minds hear my voices in my head????

God forbid people have trouble in a video game that:
1. Caters so heavily to the veteran with "the rich get richer" mechanics of Prototype Gear and Skill Points. 2. Is notoriously difficult to learn how to play given the glitches and terrible handling rivaled only by a shopping cart missing a wheel. 3. Has concepts that are not immediately obvious like Drop Uplinks on roofs, Redline Snipers, or Remote Explosive Frisbees. 4. They are new. 5. The game's matchmaking puts all them against Prototype Squads. 6. The game doesn't scramble teams in between games so you will often have the same team composition game after game if you jump into the next battle. 7. The game's idea of a tutorial is to have to shoot people who are, ostensibly, also new to the game. This doesn't teach you things like "This is a Militia Tank. Use your Militia Swarm Launcher to deter or destroy it." 8. Equipment tiers are not really explained. When I first starting playing, despite the fact that I had played EVE, I was still amazed that I couldn't kill people as fast as they could kill me. "I have an Assault Rifle. Why is his Duvolle killing me so fast?" 9. There is no 'Noob Tube' in the game that allows new players a pump in overall power that allows them to take out a veteran or at least get some kills ala the grenade launcher from CoD or Titanfall's Smart Pistol.
Yes, it is annoying to see the 1/16 player on your team. I often find myself wondering "how can they have died so many times?" but then I think back to the crap I have done and seen. Blaster Tank sitting in an area blowing away the people that think Assault Rifles are effective against a 5,800 Shield Gunnlogi. Spawn Camping CRU's. Orbital after orbital, though not so much anymore.
It is easy for us with our Prototype gear or even just an understanding of the maps and metagame to say "how can they have died so many times?" when we might have difficulty looking back to where we were. I started about a month into open beta. I was probably 2 million SP away from the top players so just my Raven Assault with my Exile Assault Rifle was enough to be heavily competitive. New players now are 30, 40, 60 million SP away. "I can make a new account and do just fine with Militia gear." And I am sure you also have been forged from the crucible into a person with some knowledge in the game like "what does gk.0 and that yellow stuff that is being shot into his back mean?"
DUST is brutally difficult for the new player and the game is not worth playing to go through that early brutality of spawn, shoot, die when you are not even getting the satisfaction of killing someone. DUST is a mediocre game; it isn't terrible and it isn't overly good. But there is no way in hell I would stomach through it again in a much worse way than it ever was for me to experience the game as it is.

Op,
That was a funny post and I always appreciate a post that makes me laugh.
I think we have all felt that way at some moment. I mean, how do you allow yourself to be killed that many times? The result is funny, sad, and is detrimental to the game in terms of player retention. But DUST is not a game necessarily long for this world so it's probably too late for a speech on that.
I remember how I used to take it in the shorts when I was new. I don't know that I ever went 1-16 but who knows? Maybe I blocked it out.
Whether you find this thread funny (part of me does) or sad, mocking, and elitist (part of me does) depends on whether you are feeling in a fun sarcastic snarky mood or an introspective philosophical mood.
Oh, and if you just kicked ass in a match or got yours kicked.
It is all relative.
Stay gold.

Tbh I WANT to help but it never really works out for me, and after a certain point I lost all will to try. I used to be good at helping new players in EVE get on their feet but ffs sometimes the stereotypes about console players are true
Say I accept a random squad invite from local (almost never do this any more) and try to help them out, explaining things and oh god they want me on voice. Ok now what did you want to ask oh **** you sound thirteen. You can heal people with a repair tool. The brown boxes all over the control points explode, you should shoot them from a safe distance before you start capturing. No... that... that wasn't a safe distance. If we get 5000 points we can call in an orbital strike like the one that just killed us. How observant, you were able to determine that scout's sexual orientation with a single glance. You must be very wise for your age. I'd prefer if you didn't talk about his mother in that way. OH LOOK AT THE TIME I HAVE TO GO.
And then I get random squad invites for weeks.
Local chat is filled with conversations like this:
"guys i trained commando suit is it good?"
"Yeah, that's a cool, fun suit to play with, it lets you mix and match two different light weapons! Try things like a swarm launcher plus an assault rifle, a plasma cannon and mass driver, etc"
"ok but what is my role am i tank, support, jungle?"
"Uh... this game doesn't have the kind of "roles" you're used to. You picked a commando. The commando's role is being able to carry two completely different weapons at the same time for different situations"
"ok so i'm a tank? i take damage for the team?"
"If you try to soak up bullets in a commando you will die, so no. Just buy a bunch of militia guns and try out different combinations of guns to kill people with"
"ok wtf i'm not tank so what am i?"
"JUST ****ING SHOOT PEOPLE. YOU ARE A SCARY MAN WITH LOTS OF GUNS. YOU MAKE PEOPLE NOT ALIVE ANYMORE"
