I have many thoughts on scouts. I have ran a scout before and it is easy to kill people, very easy. You just have to keep all your enemies to one side. Assaults are kinda different, more of a run-and-gun style. It requires more skill than a scout because you can be surprised and lose the element of surprise. Also you are slow and have a bigger hitbox. I have been running the caldari assault/scout for the past few days and noticed some big differences;
Fitting a cloak on a scout is almost as costly as an uplink on an assault.
Scouts require more flanking and have balanced eWar
Scouts can dodge bullets, assaults.....not so much
I am one of the MANY scout users and haters (lol)
Why not implement some changes;
cloak bonus:
15% reduction to standard scout dropsuits
45% to advanced dropsuits
75% to prototype dropsuits
flux grenades:
Reset cloak field timers
eWar:
Bonuses apply when the respective modules are used
Shotguns:
i hate shotguns and cloaks
Highest plasma cannon kill: 132 metres

Remove the 2nd equipment slot and either slightly increase the hitbox or slightly decrease strafe speed. The bullet evading dance is too effective imo.

all 3 options.
this will slightly nerf scouts doing a "matrix" but also forces the scout to make a choice between running with Cloak/RE/hive insted of 2 out of the 3

untill scouts get nerfed into their rightful place scout threads will only increase in number due to more and more players picking up the mantel of "scout" because scout has an innate advantage over all other suits in many aspects, also because the only real way to hunt scouts is to be a scout so it is an out of control spiral which self perpetuates.

Fix hit detection/framerate & check stats, cause I think that's all that it will take.
If more is needed, there are two ways to go, IMO: One weapon or one equipment .
This is not QQ. I run mostly scout. |
