So I've been putting most of my skill points into the dropsuit upgrades tree and am undecided about my next million skill points. I'm considering one of the following and leaning toward either Knives or Kincats. I normally run without a cloak because they're terrible to fit without getting scout skill up, which is the bit reason I'm considering scout to 4 at this point. I just got kincats to 3 and really like them. I could also get my armor and shields up, but I'm not excited about that. Precision is so that I can run complex precision, cause 3 adv precision < 1 complex damp. The ZN's are mostly adequate for my knifing (except when they're not, but there are always REs). I considered hacking as well, but I think I want a better cloak fit first. Thoughts?
Precision from 4 to 5 Kincats from 3 to 5 Minmatar Scout from 3 to 4 Nova Knives from 3 to 5
Other skills for reference: CR is 4, sharpshooter 2, rapid reload 1 SCP and SMG ops are both 2 RE 1 Grenade 1 Cloak 1 Damp 5 Range 5 Core 4 Electronics 4 Engineering 4 Hacking 1 Armor is 3 Armor plating 3 Armor reps 0 Shield 4 Shield extension 3 Shield recharge 1 Shield regulation 1

Do you really need that cloak? My MinScout does just fine without one. Learn to use your environment.
Not any specific recommendation (I think other players are more capable of doing is than me, but this is what I experience from my scout): Hacking, together with some codebreakers is really nice for MinScout to sneak in, hack something and get back out. Kincats are nice as well when running novaknives, but you might check first if your suit can take it with the fitting requirements before going this route. Precision is nice to have, awareness helps too (you can also detect clockers by the glimmering, or activating sound if they are closely if really necessary). |

The cloak allows better chances of getting into some objectives undetected and makes it easier to cross some areas that I currently go around when cloakless. I doubt that I'd start running it all the time as I currently only use it when messing around, but the Min Scout bonuses are all useful.
I would like to get hacking up too - I almost put it on the list, but the Min Scout skill is equal to one level of hacking, has NK damage bonus, and allows fitting a cloak more reasonably. I would definitely consider getting hacking up to 3 or 4 before pushing min scout to 5 though.
I hadn't considered the fitting requirements on the kincats, but it looks like I can put double complex on a basic suit with reasonable compromises and pretty easily on an advanced suit. If I go with the kincats, I'll likely make the push for core and engineering 5 next.
Headphones really help me with cloaks, finding equipment, etc. |

Yeah it's not wrong to use, but it seems it isn't really that much of a priority for you now?
Anyway, sorry that I can't be really helpfull for you at the moment. In the end it's just a bit of time in case you regret your choice, but it seems you're on the right path with your current plans, enjoy the game with whatever you decide to skill up first. |

Hacking to 5 on Minmatar is really helpful. Especially if you do it often.
I find kincats to be less worth it than other mods, so I would suggest hacking or knives first.
And since you have a pretty good base with where you are on your Core skills, I would even suggest thinking of taking your Minmatar to 5 just for the passive bonuses alone.

Thanks for the advice. I do a fair bit of hacking and often try it under adverse circumstances, so the quicker hack would be nice.
It looks like precision doesn't actually get me much, so I've ruled that out. I'm leaning toward Minmatar scout to 4 because I already have 500k SP, so the extra isn't much and the bonuses are nice. It looks like there's a big jump in codebreaker's effectiveness from advanced to proto (15% vs 25%), but they're harder to fit than I realized. Do you fit codebreakers or are the passive boosts good enough?
I'll likely fill in knives, hacking, armor and shields, kincats and maybe even engineering before putting scout to 5. I feel like I get more bang for my skill points. That last level for a suit is pricey in comparison to most other skills. |

I find the passives to be good enough and the sacrifice needed to fit them to be too great.
If I were a PC player, I would probably have a fit or two with some codebreakers.
I have though seen a few occasions where a Minja equiped them and could super hack things before I could really counter. It was quite amazing to see, but doesn't suit my play style.
