Ever since 1.9 started my rr has been unable to deal damage to enemies.
I've stood perfectly still, aiming down the sights at ~90m and it shows that I hit the enemy but it deals no damage at all.'ve even witnessed enemies rep to full life while I am shooting an entire mag into his torso. Once I switch weapons (pull out my sidearm) I can deal damage again. I've tried everything to figure out whats wrong but I'm at a loss now. It only seems to effect my rr (all of them, I've tried fitting each one) as every other gun is working properly. I've been trying to practice with the rr before I commit to assault ck.0 but as I've said, I can't deal damage to my opponents. I thought it may be lag on either end causing the person i'm shooting at to be displayed slightly beside where he actually is but then I switch to my sidearm and am able to deal damage (very little b/c I'm usually very far away, but damage just the same).

Yeah the RR sucks now... I've resorted to using a Breach AR and a Boundless CR but I miss my RR... please fix. People will always QQ about being outranged that doesn't mean break the weapon. The CR has always had a higher DPS now I'm seeing QQ threads about it. IMO the RR was fine where it was, the CR was better when in range. The AR just needed to be brought up in damage so that it is truly king of CQC. |

I thought it was just me because I use 2 rail rifle on my std commando and I used both clips that did no DMG and a BAR killed me in my optional range also it frigging jumps to much when I'm shooting guys far away.

Hey op I had this earlier on today. Shooting and hitting but dealing 0 damage. The rail rifle has some wonky ass messed up hit detection. It doesn't hit when it should, and it seems to hit and kill when it shouldn't.....
A lot of weapons in the game have issues with no firing / 'jamming' or what ever. - Plasma cannon after a reload sometimes, Forge gun the same, Large Rail turrets too.

I must have a fully maxed weapon that does 0 damage and take terrible long time to charge? At least ADSs could still be used.

Nope, I normally don't go to topics marked Dev for fear there will be news of Legion (I can't afford a PC... so if Dust dies I will be stuck with Destiny... let that sink it... or Payday 2, that's always fun ) I'd make a thread, but really there will just be people saying that the RR is fine... *sigh* well I'm off to make a thread! (That may have been one of the single most confusing things I've said on the forums... 1st being Raven for CPM2 joke)

Its not that my rr's are doing poor damage and I cant hit targets. I can hit targets but I dont deal damage. rr's, arr's, you name it.
If it is a hit detection problem then I'm going to have to experiment shooting near enemies and seeing if I register damage.
The gun is literally useless most of the time now.

ADS is actually in a pretty good place by the most recent numbers.
Pilots felt like they were getting their wings clipped because they were used to pulling an average of 50 kdr's and the changes brought the numbers down to lower levels (but still significantly higher than the KDR for tanks or any infantry suit).
Anecdotally I see good pilots still doing work in ADS's in matches until concentrated AV forces them away.

I think the Rr is just fine. Its only problem is that it does poor hit detection dmg now and it jams up after a few shots. In my opinion its supposed to be a defensive weapon to keep people from advancing. Its not a slayer weapon like the assault version. I believe all the weapons were designed to serve as such. Since there are a lot of weapons to choose from all weapons have specific uses. Like all weapons the Rr has an assault version and should be used more than the basic Rr if your going to slay or go offensive. Since all weapons have a defensive and offensive version it is up to the player to choose which is best for the given moment. |

You can always use another Light weapon and use the Caldari Bonus for the BOLT PISTOL, that its BTW pretty fkn awesome...
The best Damage mod is a HEADSHOT....

Have you asked for new data? Like this thread which was used to justify the changes in the first place.
My sense is that Rattati wants the perceived RR imbalance fixed, and unless it is, our arguments will fall on deaf ears. |

They just pretty much removed ads kick it feels good, but I think it makes it to good. I mean it is now a lr/cr again.

i used to get this alot i used to use the RR all the time, with this glitch you need to stop firing let the charge go down and re-fire. It has gotten me killed so many times but thats how you fix that.
Another glitch you may encounter is if you sprint like a 0.001 of a second before a bullet is gonna fire your ammo will deplete as you sprint without firing this does not deal damage but you will get hitmarkers as it happens there will be no firing animation either just your ammo wasting away into nothingness ive tried, and you will have to reload to stop this.

Have you actually tried the ARR?
It's really no better, and in terms of hipfire kick, is even worse than, the RR.
The real problem, IMO, is people suggesting solutions that have no idea what they are talking about. |

Still a small spool up time and negligible recoil. Really?
If anything that was a hitbox issue OP had.
The rail rifle complaints show how self entitled/ tactically numb players can be here.

The BOLT PISTOL IS a caldari weapon.
Using TWO weapons with the same damage profile and range might be a little dumb.
Sure a Minmatar assault with a SCR rifle and Breach SMG is a force to be reckoned with and an amarrian assault with kin kats can easily use a SG due to stamina and EHP values which would make him powerful at CQ but would lack purpose since in the case of the amarr, the bonus doesn't help the RACIAL SIDEARM.
The best Damage mod is a HEADSHOT....

I really like what Rattati has done overall but I think he's done too many stealth rifle nerfs over the last few months.
The one that really annoyed me was Hotfix Delta (I think) where MOST of the rifles had some change but these were not documented. The Google Doc just said 'Multiple small tweaks to parameters noone understands'. Rifles are the bread and butter of this game, you should not mess about with (i.e. break) them unless you have a very, very good reason. And then, it should be made crystal clear what you've done. Otherwise players will just think the game doesn't feel right anymore and go off to play something that has weapons that handle consistently.
In fact, I would almost go so far as to say that you should NEVER change parameters like kick and dispersion (and charge in the case of the RR) that change the fundamental handling characteristics of a weapon. If a weapon is OP or UP you can almost always address this by buffing or nerfing damage. That way you can bring the weapon in line with the desired performance level, without making it feel horrible to use for people who are used to the old version.

This has been a problem with the Rail rifle since inception.
It has always had terrible hit detection, Aim assist makes up for it somewhat.
With mouse and Keyboard it's instantly noticeable through an hour of use... There are times when the hit detection is absolutely beautiful.
Then times where its like your firing blanks... Your ammo is being consumed, Your target's shields are flashing, the full animation is going off on your client like your hitting your target... But no damage registers.
Take your finger off the trigger, switch weapons... Pull it back out.. and the problem is gone.
The Charge up time on the Rail rifle now is long enough that most peoples Aim assists disengage the "Ht detection Sweet spot" and your stuck in the same boat as a Mouse user. |

Good sir the problem you are experiencing may be the true weakness of the RR. I have noticed this glitch with all caldari weaponry. If you try to fire immediately after you switch weapons SOMETIMES the RR magsec bolt pistol and forget hun will appear to fire , but no damage will register. This can be fixed be not firing as soon as you switch weapons. If yourbullets clearly make contact and your clip is depleting then stop firing reload and fire again.
