It use to be a good idea back in the early days that would later get iterated on. But the improvements to faction warfare delayed, then came the Rouge wedding, and finally ccp Rattati took control of Dust which resulted in priorities shifting.

You don't really get enough LP to warrant the time if you lose the match and won't be getting any increase in your standing either so you're not even making progress... Not really much incentive for people to go Amarr/Caldari right now.

These days, kinda. Back when Dust was trying to craft a meaningful connection with EVE, it was so frickin cool the first time I saw an Orbital Strike (not a crappy warbarge strike) from an EVE pilot. Almost made me want to start playing EVE, haha!

Nowadays, that Eve-Dust mechanic is biting us in the ass especially when not enough of one faction is running complexes in their respective systems.

It was Amarr we were doing. The people in this thread have it all wrong. Gallente was quick. Amarr took forever.

Last I checked, there is no matchmaking in faction warfare. It's kind of first come first serve. Although squads seem to have priority.

I actually started playing EVE because of factional. But that game is even more repetitive than dust.
Here it's all about the fight and not about ganking... Though Protostomps can give you a taste of ganking in EVE... lol
