How about making one of the blueprint weapons cost another 50,000 LP or so? Same for modules. Perhaps I want something else like Nova Knives on my Tiger Scout that won't be just standard. In that case, a proto weapon is perhaps another 100,000 LP.
Not sure if it should be usable in pubs...Scratch that, it shouldn't be usable on anything but your APEX BPO. That means that in time you could have a killing maching for FW...

Someone else can decide if this even makes sense.

Swap weapons/modules (for same teir versions)? Yes
Although,basic equipment on a Pro logi suit is a joke.
Now that should be swappable for ADV market gear.

The power curve of all current BPOs is Standard, even the Apex suits are essentially standard fits because they cannot be modified and run all standard mods thus player created standard level ISK fits can eclipse them in specificity and optimization to a player selected role/style.
While I am a support of BPOs in general I am avidly opposed to BPOs over the current meta level. IMO the power curve for BPOs should remain at standard or below.

Most new players will not fork out $30 for a suit in a free game they just started, and if have 10k LP and 10m ISK to spare...you're not new.
"Oh it lets Vets be competitive FW without spending ISK!"
Right, so its a suit which can basically be trumped by anyone with a Standard BPO suit and puts half decent modules on? And even if it's 'better' is far from optimized (Lol Calmmando). These suits are really not all that useful to vets if they own a few standard BPO suits and have lots of SP.
I'll put the tinfoil on here and say that this is a test for Tiericide, thinly veiled with the above listed reasons. Tiericide for Dust? Who knows. But tiericide for Our Favorite Not-Game? Highly likely.

Over 60+ Million SP and full proto in all Caldari Suits. No matter how hard CCP tries Dust just won't die on PS3/Xbox.

Tiericide is a thing EVE went through, where they used to have Basic/Advanced/Prototype ships and as you went up you lost any/all reason to run the lower tier ships.
Currently we have Proto suits, Proto weapons,yadda yadda.
The biggest problem is the versatility in the Prototypes vs Basics(Logi has 4 equips, and 8 mod slots, basic has 2-3 equips, and 2-4 slots.)
This gives Prototype players unrivaled versatility, and power.
In reality, many Std fits aren't viable to build for(for instance a scanning Minja) is virtually impossible, even considering how much you might sacrifice)
In reality, i need that 3rd low to run damp/range/code breaker

There are varying degrees of tiericide, for example there is only 1 suit for each role & race, so for example the Minmatar Assault would have 4 highs and 4 lows. There is no Standard or Advanced, just a proto suit so to speak. The power of the suit is then directly proportional to which grade of modules you put in it, not which tier of suit you're using like we have now.
The APEX suits are an example of a tiericided suit fit with only standard modules. If you could modify them, you would upgrade the suit by putting better modules on it.
This is in line with what they were talking about at Fanfest where in Legion all suits are BPO, they're free and limitless. Instead all of the cost of fitting them is in the modules. So....remove tiers from suits, make them all BPO. Modules and weapons remain tiered, and they determine the 'grade' of suit.
