Are the 'APEX'-dropsuits subject to realignment and refitting by CCP, or are they set in stone yet?
Is it prudent to wait until the wrinkles have been ironed out prior to purchase? If so, when will it be safe to buy them, secure that the fittings are final?
nb4NEVER this thread is for those who are informed and interested in 'APEX' whether for form or function.

Given how CCP has a feedback thread about the APEX Gear, I doubt that their exact fittings are set in stone. Which is good considering how many of those fittings are terrible/
As for when is the best time to purchase them, I'd say it depends on if you like the fitting you are searching for. If you want. you can view the fittings of the APEX Suits via ProtoFit's "prefit" option at the bottom, or this spreadsheet.
If you do end up purchasing them, I highly recommend using LP instead of AUR. There are much better things you can by with 58k AUR.

There's a feedback thread about them somewhere around here, so I wouldn't be surprised if CCP modifies them.
There's also more to come, so you might want to hold off unless the one(s) you want are already released. The Dev Blog mentioned releasing them over a period of four weeks.
For 58K Aurum(~$30) though you might be better off spending it on something else. I'd recommend grinding out the LP for the suit you really want one, but that's just me.

Those Caldari fits are pretty terrible, I imagine that's why everyone has abandoned Cal FW. To me the Assault looks like the only one worth grabbing at this time and the majority of vets already have a similar BPO since they came with every Merc pack there is. |

Even if the fittings are terrible, chances are they are going to be staying terrible even after retrofitting from CCP. These are BPOs of prototype suits, they are going to just be vanity for their entire lives. |

I'm getting the faction variants for the vanity factor.
At least with the faction variants, you build up the rank of your favorite faction along the way.

Thanks for the feedback. I will wait to purchase 'APEX' until the dust has settled AND we have more than 30 slots for dropsuits in the fittings screen. There's no point in buying 'APEX' if I have to sacrifice my other fittings to use 'APEX' since i have already capped out my number of fittings.
