100.000 LP would buy 645 LP proto suits, someone please explain to me why I feel the need to save up for one of these APEX suits?
The APEX suits look cool but it's barely better than my BPO suit with BPO modules. I'm an idiot so I'm going to grind for one anyway even though it really doesn't make much sense. |

They aren't designed to be better than existing Proto suits - they are there to give player a midground to stand on between standard and actual Proto that 1) has no skill requirements so they can decide if this is what they want to skill into, 2) stand a better chance of survival against protostomping, and 3) accomplish these things without them being pay to win.

Sorry to say that with some of the fittings on them, there is no way in hell that you are going to have an easier time surviveing. CCP wants too much with these suits. It not even halfay better than simply using basic suit with better loadouts.

Guys I understand what the suits are designed for, my point was I'd be better off buying the 645 proto suits but I'm hard headed and I want one so I'm going to grind for it anyway. |

Man...some of these adv suits have more health than my proto fits. Anyone buying these suits because they feel it will help them against "protostomping" is just crazy.
You want to know what the biggest threat is on the field? It isn't protostomping but squadstomping. You could have all the proto gear in the world.....but if you are thrown in a match vs 2 squads or a full squad and some change and all you have is one other partner, you're fugged either way.

Milking profit.
Easier to buy AUR then to actually grind your way to get the suits.
There will literally be no hope for this game if AV/specialised vehicles/scouts aren't changed for the better.

Believe it or not, especially after going through FW matches all day, I ran into a lot of players that are willing to grind all those matches just for the faction variant APEX suits. Mainly because they don't want to cough up $27 for such a suit that might get re-fitted by CCP later on for practical purposes. The secondary reason is because getting a faction variant symbolizes that you EARNED the suit rather than paid your way to get it.

I'm being optimistic here, and hoping this is the new "tiericide" in motion.
Or: this is how they're planning to do Legion- buy a prefit suit, run that and optimize it in this cookie cutter style.
Ideally though, this is just a way to keep people from absolutely abusing the potential Proto BPO. I'm hoping for "Starter suit: Militia ______ Medium Frame" grind in that for a few weeks, then go out and buy a "Minmatar Medium Frame MK.0" or the "Minmatar Medium Frame MK.1, sporting 2 equipment, lowered shield recharge, and slightly boosted PG/CPU" After grinding in that for a few weeks, you could go out and buy a "Minmatar Assault Mk.1(Assault, 4/4 layout, has 45 shield regen but doesn't gain the enhanced speed boost compared to the basic frame" Or the "Minmatar Assault MK.0 which has 25 shield regen, gains .45 speed(overall)"
All of which would be full prototype layout, with the Basic frame having 2 equips, and the Assault having higher attack potential. where the cost difference would come would be in your fitting, with Militia items costing maybe 45 isk a piece, while Standard costs 2-5K a piece. Adv/Pro would be quite pricier, nearing towards the 10k - 45k a piece range.
ANyways, just my .02 Isk

Your 645 LP suits are still going to cost isk on top for the suit along with costing a lot to fit. These BPOs just like all other BPOs are only meant to be a casual play suit not a protostomping suit.

The idea of earning the suit is really good and does show true dedication however, not all of us have time for this much grinding.
Would you feel more pi*sed off if you spent a month grinding in FW or spent 58,000 Aurum for CCP to then change the fittings?
Given that the people who actually play the game were only asked of their opinions after they went on sale, shows that to me, they are very much a work in progress and by far nowhere near the finished product based on the feedback I read yesterday.
However we earned these suits, they are gonna change if we like it or not. |

what i think is more annoying than the 100 000 LP points they cost is that they also cost 10 000 000 ISK... i thought the apex suits should attract low SP players... but which poor newberry has so much isk lying around O.o? They should make it max 1 000 000 ISk (which is enough in my opinion) and a goal which would be reachable for newer players... hell i would even pay a newberry that 1 000 000 isk if he/she would keep playing dust.... |

AUR is faster and ISK is slower, but at least an ISK option is there.

I'll save my LP for the min Sent or Commando, depends on the commandos weapons, and then I'll use them for Isk grinding in pubs. That's it. The FW Loyalty finally has something that you can show of in the barge, and that's cool.

Minmando is a Swarm and Mass Driver, btw.
I like knowing I earned it. Plus, my gaming budget for the month is pretty much set in stone (AC Unity, GTA V, Dragon Age), so, I have to be a little mindful. During the summer when no games come out, sure, I could buy them, but not now.
If you find an issue and I stumble upon your thread, I will do my darnedest to get the issue known.

I'd rather pay 100 million ISK for one APEX suit than have to grind the 100k LP, they cost faaaaaaa(indefinite amount of "a")aaaaaaar too much.
That moment when you mow down a proto Caldari assault suit with a militia laser rifle.
Words can't describe it.

Not sure why everyone has problems with money, that's the easy part of this game. Make a fit under 20k with uplinks and play ambush after ambush. 200k a match in 10 minutes. If you wanna really be an ******* you can back out of all the OMS matches and just play the 50 manners |
