So whats so wrong with proto BPO suits that can be fully customizable with modules? You'd only be getting the suit for free and would have to pay for everything else on it.
The suit only gets about 60k isk cheaper per fitting if you can use a BPO instead of paying for the suit? Doesnt seem like a huge deal to me, would certainly make the currently low isk payouts less of a burdon on players while still having risk involved. |

It's most likely an attempt to avoid the P2W context, fitting matters and can provide significant advantage. Peak fitting potential is only realized through active participatory gameplay, and creating a class that is purchasable with no time invested yet grants the benefits of the higher experience threshold edges DUST514 P2W critisisms closer to validity.

We are all, regardless of fits, class or role, mercenaries. There is a financial risk/reward system that creates game balance through economics and the addition of BPO full-proto customisation probably skews the economic side too far.

There is more risk in this game than there is reward, introducing BPO proto suits that you can customize reduces the risk without increasing the reward, perhaps to a level of risk that is acceptable for the low reward. |

Right, and then once you had it there would never be any reason whatsoever to ever use a Standard or Advanced suit again. Cutting out the usefulness of 2/3 of a line of suits sounds like a GREAT idea.

Nooo, you need to mitigate your risk based on the projected reward. If you're not being rewarded profitably you must design your solution from your gameplay. This is the game.
Consider yourself a small business owner. If you're not profitable your business fails. Learning profitability doesn't happen through learning accounting tricks (ie BPO whoring, tho many other failing business owners will say it is) it happens through learning better, more profitable ways of doing business, ie Getting Good.
And yes I run a BPO. Its equivalant is a STD frame suit, the sort of thing any newberry fresh from Academy can have.
