I have been listening to people complain day in and day out about how they hate armor stacked scouts "its not how fast they run its the fact that they have just as much armor as we do and by the time we see them your already dead"
anyhow a possible fix that would balance this issue would be to add a DB increase (thats what determines if you are seen by an enemy radar right?) to the armor plates...
basically if a heavy has a base EHP of around 700-800 and a profile of lets say 50? and the scout has a base EHP of around 200 and a profile of like 20 then thats all fine and dandy..
but when the scout stacks on those armor plates that give it +350 hp and then stacks shields which give him another 150 hp now he is around the same EHP of a heavy and should have a higher profile.
Problem: scouts being undetectable with enormous amounts of hp solution: the more modules that increase hp the higher the profile of the suit (making it easier to detect)
penalize people for having a lot of hp just like heavies are penalized for it... make them slower and more detectable.
thats all, it will solve the problem and make the game more balanced.
(P.S. assault suit with almost 800 EHP running at 10+ m/s with a shotgun) not balanced either; but atleast people can see me coming and thats why I die half the time is because i cant sneak up on people |

The easiest and logic solution would be: Double or triple speed penalty for light frame suits, keep current speed penalty for medium frame suits and halve speed penalties for heavies. Finally all will have their advantages for doing what they are supposed to do.

Won't happen. You know why?
Because Rattati thinks Assaults should wear Dampeners as well. Which, probably won't happen within the community, leading to higher profiles on anything but a scout, and negating the effect Rattati wanted with the Apex suits.
Also, assuming you want extenders to increase it as well, it wouldn't be fair to armor tankers because they can either put plates, or dampeners, while the shield tanking races would be able able to fit extenders and dampeners, probably negating the extra dB. |

First of all, not all scouts are shield or armor base, i know that because of them we all pay the price. I'm an eWar scout, i run x2 proto range amplifiers and x4 advanced precision enhancer. I like to help the squad and once in a while kill some if it's in my capabilities. But now that they nerf the cloak eWar is bullshit because we can't hide near the enemy team without being seen (as i see it, that is the finality of the cloak for an ewar scout, and thats why only scouts can wear it properly), you can hide without the cloak in some maps, but more early than later will be seen by someone. As eWar scout there is no point in using it anymore because of the range nerf, and they f*ck me and everyone who went caldari scout for that bonus as an eWar scout.
I was thinking that instead of nerfing cloak, they might nerf weapon, and leave it with only two sidearms, there is still usability to an scout, but will be used more as an ewar scout than an assault scout. Scouts will be able to kill with nova knives and or dual smg, or whatever else but the point is no to leave them useless instead fit them as eWar. |

Scouts having too much ehp relative to assaults is only part of the problem. The CPU/PG available to scouts dwarfs what suits of comparable tier have to work with, allowing better modules and weapons to begin with, meaning better tank/gank. Then the dual equipment slots make scouts better logis than actual logis in a lot of cases. Then there's the vastly superior Ewar, making them all but invisible while able to see anyone but other dampened scouts on the tacnet. Then there's the superior speed, stamina regen, and shield recharge. Add in nearly instant kill weapons like the shotgun and RE's, and then a cloak and you begin to get a sense of why people are frustrated with where scouts are at right now.
