There should be no "grace period" while changing suits. I have died counless times while knifing or shooting someone changing their fit and they take 0 damage turn around and insta kill me (usually in my 240 hp scout). This is a ridiculous if you wana change suits in the middle of battle it should be at great risk thus no "grace period". It's also abused by people that are afraid to fight so they camp a depot and switch suits before dying.
Honestly i thought it was common sense that you should be vulnerable while changing suits in battle. It's like saying you should have a grace period while reloading. |

100% agree. Hanging out by a Supply Depot makes you invincible.
If I shoot a guy, and he changes suits, instantly heals, has invincibility, and gets an undeserved second chance against me, its broken.
We've all been victim to some scrub who's only skill was switch in between heavy suits.
Just like recalling a vehicle, have a delay before the change. 3 seconds of transition would suffice.

Perhaps we could make it so that switching suits at a supply depot results in the new suit starting with 0 ammo?
If you are legitimately switching suits, then there is no problem. You're already by a supply depot and will get all of your ammo back quickly.
If you are trying to abuse the switch mechanic however, you would have a large-ish period - probably a little over 3 second given the fastest reload times with skills plus the time it takes to get ammo back - where you would be completely vulnerable

Or just make it so that you receive a suit with the same % ehp that you swapped from.

How about just removing the suit swapping mechanic? Why is it there? How can you undress and redress in the middle of a battle, we switch suits when we bring in a new clone, not the same clone doing a fashion show.

Lore-wise I think nanites from the depot breaking down your current equipment and reforming it to what you require.
Sticking with that theory, perhaps you should be frozen in place for a few seconds and have like 2HP (when your clone is technically naked as the supply depot does its thing) and can be instantly killed. So basically people will only switch suits when it's absolutely safe to do so because they're helpless whilst the process is occuring.
