Anyone that uses the ion pistol knows that it jams when the clip empties like 90% of the time. I was wondering if this was intended as a mechanic or if it will be fixed.
I use the ion pistol for my primary weapon it is a very strong weapon but the range makes it useless in most engagements and having to manually reload the weapon often cost me duels I would otherwise win.
I am not against manual reload if it is something you guys plan for all weapons.

The Ion Pistol is just not fun to use period.
EVE Online is what you get when engineers attempt to create "fun" without consulting someone who comprehends the word.

I started using it because it was such an insult to kill someone with it then they buffed it /tears I should just grab a smg they are to good in every situation.

As a secondary weapon you wouldn't really notice because it is quite potent for a side arm. What I am describing is not over heat but a (I assume glitch) where after your clip is empty the weapon will lock and charge until you manually reload or swap weapons and sometimes only swap weapons will work.

my trusty ion pistol hasn't jammed up on me befor.
all I know is nobody like's being killed by It. hence running both op/sharpshooter skills at 5 with both ar/ion pistol on lvl 5 gall assault is so entertaining,.

I run ion pistol and nova knifes. On my assault I have your set up and as a finisher it works fine because you don't have to reload it.

That happens with the ScR too, I empty my clip and it starts charging, and then reloads without the reload animation 
That moment when you mow down a proto Caldari assault suit with a militia laser rifle.

Yes! I just put a post about it. The Ion Pistol holds promise. It's unreliable at the moment. Please fix.
I would love for a manual reload when the clip is empty on ALL weapons though. |

If you charge shot, sometimes after the charge shot it overheats again for no reason.
All the charge up weapons have a problem where charge up replaces the reload mechanic at the end of a clip.

I am not sure, but it may be something that could be used as an advantage. If you were aware of when your clip is empty before hand your first round would be a charged shot, but in application it turns out very poorly. I might take a day and try to get it down I am still not sure if it is intended or not.
