I like a lot of movies based on books where everyone says the movie is nowhere near as good as the book.
This is due to the fact, in part, that I never bother reading the books, or at most, won't read the books until after the movies, hence not spoiling the movie experience.
I thought the Eragon movie was not bad, for instance. I don't love it though.

I initially hated it but once I re watched it earlier this year I think I was expecting too much from it as it wasn't the highest budget production ever. However how it butchered the Tronjhiem scenes, didn't introduce Orik, Nasuada, Hrothgar, the Kull, Oromis or adequately depict the city itself was unforgivable.
There is a good reason there is no sequel.

The problems I had with Sucker Punch are
1) I had high hopes for it. Hell, the trailer playing Bjorks "Army of Me" had me chomping at the bit. All the cool scenes made it look epic. The let down was spectacular.
2) I took a girl. I even tried getting her pumped for it too. When we both sat in the theater saying "what the **** is this?" I'm pretty sure it cost me at the very least a HJ.
3) Frankly it was the dumbest plot ever. I cannot think of another movie, a non-B movie, that was as poorly written.
4) Cohesion did not exist. I would say the characters parachuting in from scene to scene would have made more sense, but I'm fairly sure that actually happened.
5) A sever lack of nudity.
6) The good parts were sub plot fantasies. The actual movie was about....orphan prostitutes? I dunno, it was stupid.
