While the original thread (Scrutinizing the Long-term of CCP Shanghai) hasn't been up very long, I decided to consolidate some questions for the CPM here in The Council's Chamber in a sister thread for formatting and topic-related purposes as the original thread was geared toward CCP themselves.
If you (the CPM representative reading this) hasn't read the original thread yet, I'll brief it up:
Obviously, the CPM is aware that CCP is not discussing Legion and is dead silent. I've read that the CPM has been asking CCP to re-open discussions as well. However, this isn't just about Legion so much as the grand scheme of things for both CCP Shanghai and the community at large. We've been constantly reminded that they want our feedback and they explain in interviews that they want to continue the dialogue with their community but have yet to make due on their end of said dialogue.
That being said, we have no idea if CCP even has a long-term roadmap and if they do, we're not aware of it in any facet. Continuous reminders that Project Legion is not a game and that it is still in development do not count as meaningful dialogue and there is no evidence at all of what CCP intends to do in the next ten years or the next five years let alone -next- year. Little to nothing has been revealed save for stone-walled interviews and five seconds of gameplay in the John Wick movie. So, here are the questions for the CPM:
What is the CPM's role in the long-term future of Dust 514 / Project Legion? If none, have you discussed this with CCP?
How do you feel about Dust's future?
Are you optimistic about the future of either game?
[*] Are you asking CCP if they have any mid-term / long-term plans or do you trust that CCP will handle it?

I am pretty optimistic about DUST after 1.9. I can't talk about Legion, but will say there's both appeal and reservation, in my mind.

My answer is going to be pretty much the same as Soraya's.
I'm personally very optimistic about the prospects of Dust 514. Ratatti has been asking for feedback on features in the forums that I personally can't see happening without another client update (no promises on that by the way).
As to Legion, there is nothing really that I can already add that Soraya hasn't said above. Not the answer you guys likely want right now but it's the only one I can give you.

I'll ask another one then.
In the eventuality that Project Legion is shelved or outright cancelled, would you encourage CCP to reveal that information as soon as possible as a show of good faith toward the community?

Absolutely. CCP's lack of communication on Legion progress has been terrible. The Legion folks need to learn from CCP Rattati's example and get talking to players. And Fanfest should've taught CCP that holding big news for the big events doesn't actually work out in their favor either. CCP needs to be able to be upfront on where their products are.

Absolutely. It's up to them if they do.. Also I'd point out that it's not an eventuality that legion is shelved or cancelled, it's a possibility.
From the common player's point of view, the situation looks increasingly grim. A sudden shift in attention over to Dust 514 through a massive and drastic surge in marketing (BPOs) and re-focusing of actual development leads one to believe that more resources are being pulled from Legion. Combined with utter silence and a complete lack of concern for the community's intense desire to know more, as well as frequent contrary requests feedback... There's really nothing more to be said.
For lack of better words: The community is tired of being betrayed and it's long since been time for CCP to make due on their end of the deal.

We hear you and believe me when I say we are pushing to get more out about Legion.
As for a 'massive' ramp up in Dust Dev, the team is small but crucially more focused, lean and dare I say of better quality than have worked on Dust in the past. And Rattati has them running like a well oiled machine.
Marketing when spoken in relationship with BPO, has become a shorthand for cash grab on the forums. There is a difference between that and securing a revenue stream. CCP is still a business after all, something that many on the forums often forget. There has been nothing so far released for Aur sale that hasn't been signed off or approved of by the CPM. We're confident it's not a cash grab.

Bearing in mind of course that the word 'massive' was used to refer to the marketing increase and not Dust development. We haven't seen this sort of marketing fervor before.

That's true, but when I first started playing DUST 514, I was shocked by the minimal amount of items you could purchase with real money. Sure, there was dropsuits and their modules, and the boosters. But really, how long would that last? How long could that support a strong development team for DUST and its IP?
As I've tried stating before, I see this as CCP creating a stronger income model for their franchise so that by encouraging players to spend money on the game (triple stacking boosters, BPOs, etc.) they can have more income for their game so that they can bring us more content. I don't see this as "Oh crap, we need money! Save our ship!" I see this more as "We want to give you what you desire, but we can't pay out of our own pocket."
I surmise that I am probably in error somewhere, but the message I am sure is close to accurate. Monetization is the survival point for any F2P game.
I want to help DUST become a better experience for everyone. Let's work together!

The key is finding the balance that Does not limit or give unfair advantage to a player while providing as many services as possible.
It's speculation on either side until CCP actually starts showing what they're doing with Legion.
