Currently we are being plagued by low payouts, it seems like no matter how many red dots you kill you don't make very much even when you ran proto gear the whole game.
After extensive testing I have concluded that: don't bother trying to kill red dots
Simple as that, throw out 2 basic uplinks and the start of the game and run around in a adv assault hacking *bam!* 400k match 4/2 KDR

even as a logi throwing out 4 uplinks i can confirm this does not work.. you need to be MVP on your team to get the /massive/ payout of 400k ish

Isk payout is simple.
Don't know the exact formula but it's something around 10k isk per minute of time you spend on the battlefield passive, then you get bonus isk depending on how much isk is lost by the enemy team. Officer gear and vehicles contribute heavily to the pot. Not sure how much of the isk lost you get, but the more the better.
However this bonus isk is distributed to the team based on wp earned divided by total wp earned for your team (or at least it seems like that). This means that if there was 1 million bonus isk to be given out, your team earned 10k wp, and you earned 2k wp, you'd get 20% of that 1 million isk, or 200k bonus on top of about 150-200k passive isk.

this is how i do it: throw out basic uplinks at the start of game, but then get a mlt ds, make sure your suit has link and hives, go to a tower or table top *bam!* no deaths, top of the leaderboard |

its warpoint dependent and difference between in warpoint between each player. Ive made 400k quite a few times as a logi and Av ever since the payouts have been fixed, usually number one in warpoints on either team. Hacking and uplinks help, or if you are a insane slayer that would help too.
So Shayz might be right, there could be a pot, and each player is awarded based on the % of wp they have compared to total warpoints. |

I agree with the pot idea. Clones are contracted as in mercenaries so they get paid by the contract. There has to be a maximum amount for each battle and the maximum amount is different for every battle. Or maybe it is the same but it is distributed among the two teams. We can confirm that the higher you place in a match the more you get paid but, the amount is not consistent. I can make the same amount of war points in two different battles and still get say 1st place and the payouts are different.

The main difference is in how much isk is lost. If you kill a lot of mlt suits and there are no vehicles, the payout will be really small. But if the enemy team loses 5 tanks that cost a million isk each, most players are running proto, and a few people are using officer gear...you can easily earn 700k-1 million+ for first place.
However 16th place will always get either 0% or close to 0% of the pot. Someone might get a million isk from the match while a blueberry will still get like 160k

I've been top 10, present for the whole match and made under 80k since 1.9 dropped. Killed 4 reds, who were all non militia.
Passive ISK is definitely nowhere near 150k per match.
I've also been top of the leaderboard (1k above number 2 and 500 above the other side) and made 203k ISK, with 2.5k WP as a logi.
Even in a tank, I'm making less than usual. Consistently top 5 when tanking (usually top 3), but making 130k-ish a match. No matter how many tanks we destroy, or installations we take out (or objectives hacked!) |

No more than 150K here, after 15 kills, 2 being MLT, and being #2 at rankings.
Not to mention the number of adv/proto scouts and sentinels that match. Heh.

The payouts are bad, regardless of formula.
It rewards sitting on your ass, being choosy with who you shoot, and running away the moment the fight starts to get hard.
I tried using a bpo fit yesterday, with my exile. Mostly worked. But repeatedly encountered proto players that could absorb an entire clip from my Exile. I had to go proto myself, just to kill them.
Lost 3 proto suits, just to get the necessary edge to win the match.
I'm tired of carrying matches against overwhelming odds, and not getting paid for it.
MU is fine, so long as I get paid.
Who wants a "fun and challenging" match, if there is little to nothing earned from it?
Set your goals high, and shoot for the moon; even if you miss you'll land amongst the stars.

This. While I won't say a lot of times people are carrying their teams the entire match but almost all the time people aren't rewarded properly for the effort they do put into win the match.
Besides that it also breaks the immersion a bit (particularly to anyone that knows about the billions & billions of EVE) when you do great but get a pittance of a payment because one guy on your team did a little bit better. I"m a fcking mercenary, why the fck am I offering my services out of a fcking bargain bin.
I'm surprised Maynard hasn't been assassinated yet.
