Disclaimer: i use RE, i use proxy mines, i use everything which makes boom and i like it.

Solution to problems:
- Treat RE as equipments, you have 3/4/5 of them? Stop, if you want more go to a supply depot or die.
(CCP should fix carried number to be 3/4/5)
- This is the a bigger problem, also tied to lag, when you drop an equipment, normally it slide on floor then it become ready to do whatever it's supposed to do, if there's no lag, you see the equipment almost in the same position where people drop it, when there is lag (often), you see equipment in a place, then the server update the position of the equipment.
If a red logi decide to kill you with nanohive it's not a great problem, but when you have to avoid RE it becomes a real problem. Solution can be to not let RE be dropped so far, but give a effect similar to AV nades (1-2 meters range) to let people use them on vehicles.
I've named the "Shaman" proto Minmatar logi

Just needs a small update to visuals. So many times I see the re thrown, I'm like AHA good luck with that matey, as I jump back in jubilation, only to find it's no where near where it showed it landing and has actually teleported to a random spot that gets me every time.

main issue is RE's being able to be thrown further than grenades as well as then sliding along the floor, pretty soon we'll be able to stand at redline and just hurl RE's down main street to 'A' all we need then in the 'Sweeper' suit to brush to lane as its going to hit the score zone

stupid thing is 3/4/5 "carried" yet "max active" is 4/5/6 it dosnt make sence.
atleast frisbee RE isnt as bad as it was in 1.7 and early 1.8.. frisbee spam is a problem tho iirc its 1 hive to 3 RE at basic/adv where as proto its like 6 to 8 RE depending on how many nanite clusters are in it.

Ohhhh played an ambush 50-50 we won bup jade tech was on the other team and had like 26-3 or something re kills. man it annoyed me that a gal scout was just spamming then, no need for gun game

REs are classified as equipment, but they re-stock like weapon ammunition when we are near supply depots or nanohives. Slight contradiction in design right there. Make them behave like equipment.
The slow blade penetrates the shield.

I rarely get hit with RE's, most scouts are too impatient to use them preferring to run straight at you decloak and shotgun. Lets fix that first. Let's fix ewar first, then that scout might not have a chance to get so close to you.
EDIT: I also agree with Saber, it's in equipment slot and equipment doesn't restock on a nanohive... |

There were probably globs of people standing together in a tight crowd, I do this sometimes. I'll just run in drop an RE and run away and see multiple +50's. I do this regularly and I never cloak up when running scout people need to watch their flanks more. |

I'd be fine if REs had the same deploy animation as Proximity REs, really a simple change, a really simple change and a literal copy-paste of existing code.

I've been a victim of this problem waaaayyyyy too often. I clearly see that the scout places the RE a few feet in front of me. So, o back up like a mile away and BANG!!!! it stills gets me. One thing I would like to learn is how the eck do they hide thse thing in objectives. There are many times where I don't have a granade but, I need to hack an objective. I look around, look up, look down, behid in short anywhere you can think off. It all seems to be clear and then BANG!!! it kills me. I swear they must be exploding a bug of some sort where they hide it behind the asset as in inside the the wall or something.

If you are standing on a ground level, look up and throw a grenade at someone standing on an upper level. Now try and throw an RE at him.
It is not possible!

though I agree they should act like equipment, I think the bigger problem is that there is no effective counter to scout ewar other than running a scout fit.
HMG heavies have a boatload of counters: - any heavy suit with either hmg or forge - plasma cannon - REs - run to get out of hmg weapon range and kill with rifle of your choice
The only counters to scout ewar - gal logi with proto scanners (but really a pretty ineffective counter. see below**) - other scout suits
** active scanners are crazy useless against scouts in non-gal suits. I evade scans in my min logi suit with no dampening modules equiped simply because I have speced into the dampening core skill. pathetic. Even if you are running a gal logi with proto scans, the cool down period means you either have to run scans in most of your equipment slots or be blind most of the time.
medium suits cannot stack enough percision mods to see scouts passively. A single complex precision mod on a logi suit (which has better precision than an assault suit) will still not let you see a gal or cal scout running no dampening modules. Two complex mods will not let you see a cal/gal scout running one comp dampening mod.
Every tactic should have multiple counters. Until there is an effective way for medium suits to counter ewar, scouts will be imbalanced, which is IMO the reason why RE spam is so effective and prevalent (and why I sometimes see half of both teams in skirmish and dom running scout suits).

Re as cqc weapon, one of the most unlogical things in dust.
It should be used against vehicles, structures and as clever booby traps, instead they are more commonly used to throw(!) at dudes.
