I think the payout is okay. When I decide to use nothing but prototype suits, I just about break even. Only for ambush matches, though.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

I'm in the same boat. Though I never hand out my isk. I worked hard for it. Back when everyone thought derpshipping was a isk sink, I was part of a small group of people that were able to make profit in it. Can't think of any other role that is as difficult to earn isk in with that high of risk. I value each and every isk in my wallet... even if I will never play this gm again.
My goal became to reach the billion mark with nothing derpshipping. I'm close to it. I'm sure eventually I'll get there.

Im actually a broke ass haha, back when I flew, aggressively, for 4-6 hours a day, solo, against full proto AV squads. Such losses.
For some reason I'll never understand, people like me, and I would frequently log in and be up 10+ million ISK from random people haha. I don't complain

I actually used to have close to 100 mill isk at one point in my dust career... Then I started flying dropships... 750k-1 mill each really put me deep in the red... Especially with those redline rails just destroying me... |

The hardest thing for newer mercs to learn is to not keeping dying and repeating the same mistakes. It's costing them so much ISK. When the battle is not in your favor, you don't keep going to your advanced fits with that prototype weapon attached. Switch to a cheaper fit. And for some, its hard to avoid going after that revenge kill.
Or just spawn camping is wrecking face before they can fart once spawned.

Don't scare him!! There are good games to be had in Ambush! Domination can be a terrible ISK sink when it wants to be. Especially when the team you got landed with plays like they are listening to Michael Bolton music while fighting.

Man, I really owe you one for that! Ambush must be like the best kept non-secret in Dust. Significantly more ISK than the other modes, in fact it's right about what I was accustomed to pre 1.9 patch. Less SP per match, but the trade off is fine by me. Thanks, this is sweet!

Just today me and some buds were doing AFW, and me and another sniper counter sniped this one guy over and over. Looked at the end of match, and he went 4-24... He just kept spawning in the same place, only to be sniped in the face.
Scariest part was that he was only second to last
