I'm playing Dust 514 since february 2013, I have more than 40M SP and I recently tried the ACADEMY MODE.
So I really thinks that it have to be change.
1) 5000 WP it's not enough for new players, they don't stand a chance to kill other players with several millions of SP
2) They only can play domination, why? It doesn't help them when they start playing ambush or skrimish. I think that this 2 mode have to be add to the academy
3) Why not creating a new "PUBLIC MILICIA MODE" for all players? In this mode ancient and new players will fight more fairly for rookies.
Nobody could use basic/advanced/prototype stuffs and rookies will earn a bonus isk in this milicia fight.
I really think that new players need to be help in this way.
So, dev and players, what do think about this? |

Sounds like a good idea to me. It could be separated by the system's security rating:
1.0
- Militia gear only, low payouts.
0.9-0.5
- Militia to Advanced gear, medium payouts.
0.4 - Null
- Anything goes, high payouts, friendly fire active.

I like the idea but there needs to be some cab on it so these proto stomping guys can't come in with militia gear and beat the s*** out of the newbies. I say putting a cap of 5-10 million SP on it would do wonders. That would give the new players a chance to go up to at least a prototype suit or get some core skills up there.
I am Caldari, but that does not mean I support our alliance with the Amarr..

Or just turn off all skill bonuses for this mode. Militia gear only, no skill bonuses - but with 50% ISK and SP gain, so theres still incentive to play normal game modes. And not so much incentive for a high SP player to stomp the militia mode. |

I think that new players (maybe under approximately 3M SP) should have maybe 120% or 130% bonus of SP and ISK |

How about just make a starter fit-only gamemode where you're given the 4 racial starter fits to use? I'm not talking about academy.
That moment when you mow down a proto Caldari assault suit with a militia laser rifle.

I like the MLT only idea, but maybe slight higher ISK in exchange for SP. As a new player you're constantly broke unless you get donations from a Corp, or sometimes from a random guy feeling sorry for you. |
