same boat but I haven't been away that long.
Right now struggling with aiming from the hip I am spraying the bullets all over the place and missing terribly. At least aim down sights is working well. Flight and pilot controls didn't take a hit from my perspective. Just the hip fire; thank amrr they have separate sensitivity.

Profile Dampeners
Delete all of your fittings and re-do them with adv suits instead of proto
Instead of rushing objectives try just sitting on a point and letting them come to you

I was low on ISK when I started so I just ran cheap suits (Basic and militia), and played with my friends when available.
It took me about a week and a half to get re-adjusted.

Pretend it is just a F2P FPS with very bad unbalanced bots on both sides. 
Try out a few things. See what has been nuked with the latest Nerf/Buff cycle. See if my vehicles work, which of my suits work and if it is too frustrating log out to play Payday 2. A big heist usually removes the frustration from the latest 'balancing' of the game.
My favorite tank is a Lightning. Just sayin.

I run BPO fits pretty much nonstop.
