So that happened. It is probably for the best because spending 30 dollars a month for 3 regular boosters would be over 8 million SP in that time frame. Still curious how the hell this could have happened though. Did no one raise their hand when this was being discussed? Why didn't any of the devs/GM's make a post before this happened? We were going pretty crazy for a week about this change. Seems like a simple post could have possibly avoided this; "boosters only let you get that cap faster. What are you guys talking about?" Confusion shown immediately, much fuss is made, problem avoided. But that didn't happen so here we are now...
I will say this: keeping the SP ludicrous for at least 30 days is a fair move because of people who have triple stacked boosters to get the most out of the increased cap. Credit where it is due; that is making a terrible fustercluck of a situation not as bad by screwing over the people that bought into that belief because of a failure to communicate. Seriously, gold star.
The interesting bit though, getting away from my barely veiled rant, is that boosters are being discussed to be changed. Rather than granting more SP above and beyond the cap, they would instead increase the rate at which the player gained SP but not above the cap. This has the advantage of pushing the game into an honest to God ethical Free to Play game. You can grind it out or you can get it easier each week. There are two problems with this though:
1. It seems kind of ridiculous to sell boosters on doing X for such a long period of time and to change them to Y later down the road. "Bait and Switch" might be brought up but it really isn't that bad because you are still getting more SP than you would have from the previous 190.4k cap and boosters.
2. "What about Passive Boosters?" This is the one that would get my goat if the multiple Passive Boosters I have would suddenly give me my 24k a day just a little bit faster but then stop. "Oh boy, I get my 24k in 9.6 hours!" seems like it cannot happen. So should Passive Boosters go the way of the dinosaurs to keep with the "Boosters let you cap faster" and moving towards that 'ethical F2P' or keep them as the only way to actually get extra SP above someone?

Being the casual gamer I am with hardcore antics, I like the notion of capping faster with the boosters. However, it really sucks for the new people as the SP boost costs a stupid amount of money and it'll take them even longer to catch up to us. Generally from the long term perspective I am in favor of increasing the length of time it takes for someone to skill-up as it strokes the veteran side of me a bit. But, for a F2P FPS MMO? Not a great idea since FPS players are typically very flighty. I say typically.
I think Passive boosters shouldn't cap your passive skill boost in 9.6 hours. I think if someone wants to increase their PSP gain by 300%, let them. Let them spend the money and fund our game more.
