Yesterday on the new medium socket someone put ALL the uplinks on a roof where you can't jump down as a heavy because you aren't able to jump over the ledge. Thank you dear random blueberry, you did well again.

Yeah and I love when you are playing Domination in the Gallente research place and someone puts one on the top of the building. And your entire team is sitting up there raining hellfire on the enemy team and getting tons of points for logis...but no one wants to jump off and hack the objective.

As long as this is isn't considered a public place, I see no issue with your plan, sir.

The worst part is when you figure out its from someone in your squad and they are adamant that it the high uplinks are a good thing.

Part of that is your fault though, as a heavy you should know sometimes the roof tops can be a quick way to a suicide. |

OMG, that Caldari outpost confuses the living f*ck out of me. So many dark dead ends and random ramps, it's crazy. It's gonna take forever to learn that place.

Randoms stay in the roof to protect their KDR.

Uplinks up high for window lickers is not smart. i agree more often then not it seems a smart idea to have them up high but it is actually counter productive and i have experienced more losses then wins with high-uplinks

It's not the uplinks (usually). It's the blueberries.
I'd rather have an uplink on the playable field and 2-3 blueberry MLT snipers than the whole team crawl out of the redline every time.

I don't remember us having that discussion. If you've got a couple squads syncing FW or whatever it's all good in my opinion, but put them up there in a pub and 9/10 times it doesn't end well.

Yeah, while I try not to place uplinks directly on the ground I also try not to place them too high because half the team will sit up there. High enough off the ground that it isn't too easy for the enemy to get to while also being low enough that sitting on it is only slightly more advantageous than being on the ground; usually the uplink itself is in a spot that can't be shot at directly by enemy unless they're up there but the rest of the area doesn't offer too much cover. I also face away from the wall/corner or in the direction enemy would most likely be in or people would most likely want to go, unless both are towards a wall, so people don't have to waste time turning around.

I hope Sniper4u doesn't see this thread, or he's not going to be real happy with you. lol
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the best way to lose a match is put uplinks up high where the useless blueberries will become even more useless. It's the kiss of death most of the time it happens (outside of PC, of course).
I agree with you on this, Thor. |
