Something seriously need to be done about collision in general. As it stands anyone wishing to use a shield dropship is completely ****** by armor based ships.
Just now with hardeners on i got tapped by a assault dropship (gallente whatever the hell they are) and it instantly kills my myron without fail each and every time. Why does this even happen?!

Armor can take hits but slow while shield can be fast but fragile.... i ram gunnlogis all day with my maddy..best way to counter rail turrets for me....unless i run into a maddy with a rail.....then..i get back to you.(im usually killed before i can ram them)

I understand the concept between shields and armor quite well. I just find it irritating.

Yes something is off with shielded vehicles in general. For a while now I have noticed how my python can land and take roughly 1500 shield damage from rougher landings and my incubus with only 900 shields will only loose roughly about 300 shield damage for the same action. HAV's have the similar issue with Gallente HAV's able to ram into Caldari HAV's to destroy them making it only one sided. Though this has been a long standing problem I am still extremely content with 1.9!

its due to the fact that the "item texture" of shields is different to armour. This surface texture gives it different properties which dictate how they interact in the game. Changing properties of this texture can have unforseen consequences that could break vehicles.

+1 I can understand the shealds should brake easyer then armor but it needs to be toned down a bit. One tap on a building can take my shealds from full to none and kill half of my armor. Cant even take a gal drop ship down with a full speed ram and a hardener on. |

I donGÇÖt normally contribute to DS threads, but yes, youGÇÖve encountered an effect in the game that IS working as designed. And IS logical, not really an GÇ£exploitGÇ¥ of a game weakness.
ItGÇÖs also unfortunate, because armour-biased vehicle players can use this science to their advantage way better than you shield-biased vehicle players. The same science that says a shield can easily withstand energy-attack but canGÇÖt withstand projectile attack---allows an armoured vehicle player to increase her speed and IMMITATE a "projectile".
Again, itGÇÖs unfair to you,... but unfair only because there really ought to be some way a shield-vehicle player can scheme a way to use the opponentGÇÖs armour-science to his advantage too.
Though IGÇÖm devout Grimsnes, I feel for ya, players----ramming has never been a tactic I join in doing to enemy DS drivers. Some kind of corny professional respect notion prevents meGÇöI just donGÇÖt do it.

Some kind of corny professional respect notion prevents meGÇöI just donGÇÖt do it. The sad part is that I LOVE flying ships. I fly assault dropships very rarely, normally im using a build that immitates a support dropship that has a cru, scanner, hardener and afterburner with a small blaster for close airsupport. It is so much fun to fly.
I can outrun most everything in my myron including ad pilots and cant stress enough that I love to fly. I just dislike litterally bumping into a target, not being rammed and losing all shields and armor. If armor is supposed to be highly resistant to impact, should it not just deplete the shields and not wreck my internals as well? I dont fly gallente ships, how does the impact effect your armor?

I have been arguing this point for months. If people want to collide and kamikaze, well that's ok - but both ships HAVE to be destroyed in the process. As it currently stands, shield dropships are at a massive disadvantage.
Personally I think ALL collision damage should be reduced. NOT removed, but reduced for sure. It too strong right now.

Some kind of corny professional respect notion prevents meGÇöI just donGÇÖt do it. It's not though. Shields are meant to be weak in terms of ehp values, and both have weaknesses to certain weaponry, but collision is just unfair in every respect.
By this logic, armor vehicles should be reduced in mobility by the same magnitude as shields are weak to collision (I mean, that only makes since, right? Give and take.)
I want collision damage to be consistent, even if that means making armor as "weak" as shields (collision damage only).
