CCP never gave out BPO's (Blue Print Originals) for events, only BPC's (Blue Print Copies). Although having some meaningful events would be kinda nice, you know, something with a story behind it like Caldari Prime. Maybe put them in that terribly never-used "Other Contracts" section? |

I thought they gave out the Exile AR BPO and Toxin SMG BPO from event-ish things during closed beta? I forget exacly how I got them but I know it didnt involve aurum or codes, I thought they were handed out. Same for dragonfly scout g-1 dropsuit bpo |

I remember not having the dragonfly suit when i started in beta, I think I do remember having the exile since the beginning now that I think about it, but I also did not have the toxin since the beginning.
So they were given out at some point in time for some reason.
I dont think it would be too horrible of an idea for some kind of event with a hard goal to earn some kind of standard level weapon BPO.
But then again, an event where you got BPC wouldnt be bad either. We could always use more quafe gk.0 suits out there, or different kind of black eagle suits. |

Personally, I think BPCs would be a more valuable thing, particularly if it's possible for CCP to open up a "player market" built around an EVE-style contracts system. The catch is that it should probably, at least at first, only be usable for BPC items; this would result in officer weapon trading as well as swapping around things like the Quafe gk.0/ck.0 suits (there's a CalSalt proto Quafe BPC, IIRC).
