Why does only the rr and scr have something like overheat and charge up? If anything an ar should overheat to (shoots plasma) and the cr should at least jam since it shoots actual bullets. I mean come on. Just my two isk

Anyway I'm pretty sure there was a thread a while back showing a slide that had "all guns(rifles?) will overheat so that's something to look forward to in legion I guess.

SCRs only overheat when you're being an idiot or fighting a Sentinel, heck my brother uses them all the time and he can fire 25 rounds before overheating (a bit more than half the clip).
The RR's and MSMG's spools are a joke simply because all you have to do is keep tapping R1 and the spool is practically non-existent.
Then there's the Bolt Pistol, which only has an initial spool meaning that if you begin the spool before exiting cover, it won't have any effects on the engagement (also applies to all weapons with spools, including PLCs).

It's set at a point where it's pretty much impossible to overheat a plasma rifle, however the values aren't changed for Krin's and Balac's, hence they can overheat from continues fire due to their larger magazine sizes.

The basis of both technologies is the same: They both use electromagnetic fields to propel the shot. This is why both are classed as hybrid weapons.
