All the other pistols are good at militia. The Flaylock seems lack luster in comparison.
I have level V Flaylock and Level two proficiency. Can barely kill a scout. It's not just my aim either the DPS is really lacking and you're basically relegated to firing only at targets either below or at the same plane as you.
My experience is that this weapon is really lack luster when compared to any other pistol in the game. The Scrambler Pistol is general purpose. The Ion is a beast at CQC. The Bolt as awesome at range. What does the Flaylock have at its advantage?

It can kill people behind small pieces of cover. It's not the best advantage but it is one. It works well enough as a finisher because of it's splash but you are better off with an SMG in most situations. |

You're talking about the militia flaylock? Yeah, it's bad, I use flaylocks when I'm on higher ground, it's a tiny mass driver, that's all.
It's harder to shoot at strafers with regular guns when they're below you, so that's where the flaylock is best.
That moment when you mow down a proto Caldari assault suit with a militia laser rifle.
Words can't describe it.

unlike most people i stick to the philosophy that a sidearm is only compatible with a primary weapon if it does a different type of damage and covers the primary weapon's weaknesses
for example i chose the ScP for my sentinel because both heavy weapons are armor based, and the HMG doesnt do well at range. ScP is shield based and does excellent at a slight range
so flaylock should be the only decent explosive sidearm. that means it would theoretically pair well with laser weapons or assault rifles. i dont think it would go well with a shotgun because i dont think the flaylock does well at range

I'vE been getting fifteen/twenty kill games with it because of how much people bunch up, i mean its more about flux nading a hoard and spaming shots into the group. Its luck more than anything but with all your teammates injuring the enemy the core really shines.
DONT EVER COMPLAIN, USE CAPS LOCK OR POINT OUT WHAT BROKEN WITH OUR GAME OR WE WILL DEFINITELY BAN YOUR ASS FOR 6 MONTHS

It's good only on large groups in small places (red blob) or targets below you. Single targets just have to jump to avoid the AoE.

Flaylocks been weak since it was downgraded back in uprising (forgot the exact #) People are just probably scared of the flaylocks coming back so they keep the users oppressed and in the corner. It does make for a good troll weapon though. |

I have it completely maxed.
Its more about timing than anything. Time your shots at the angle they are moving towards and see if you can time it to hit their feet if they are strafe-jumping.

No, the Flaylock is GREAT.
DON'T BUFF it, otherwise it will be nerf hammered!

The Flaylock can do damage around obstacles... If that's not a noticeable advantage then at least you can enjoy watching clones rag doll across the room for non stop laughs
I have the Flaylock maxed out completely and max reload speed and maxed proficiency makes it a beastlock

I use it as a finisher.
It's an excellent finisher because I hardly need to aim with it.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Have one point in Flay. I actually survived an encounter with two shotgun scouts using the mass driver method (scouts hate explosives) . Then two Min Assaults.
Then nothing else, as of yet. It really is a niche wep.

I ran a MLT flaylock a few times during the sidearm event and I actually felt quite the opposite. It felt pretty usable. I'd start with it and then switch to SMG after I hopefully hit my target atleast once. Seems to work best when you shoot them in the feet but nothings better than sticking a missile right into someone's face. |

Best when the opposition is at minimal armor, but strafing madly or the situation's tense.
Works great for clearing equipment behind obstacles too. I once cleared a building of all uplinks from a single platform.

I love the flaylock. It's pretty damn good once you give it a serious go.
I use it on my min assault.
I love to get behind dudes hacking or on installations and headshot them a couple times. Also does well to kill/throw off scouts.
I wish my avatar was Minmatar.
