I have proto Gallente and Minmatar scouts. I don't have EWAR maxed out yet.
So wich one would you guys recommend and why. I,personally, am very interested of the Caldai Scout so I can run EWAR ( After I finish my EWAR upgrades ) . Amaar seems very interesting aswell so I can make it my ultimate Plasma Cannon fit with that stamina.
So wich one would you reccomend ? I'd appreciate thoughts from someone who has both proto.

a fast deadly raptor like suit.
if i did the cal scout id do 4 shield extenders and 2 regs. then any guy your comfortable skirmishing with and getting behind cover quickly.
rail, burst ar, scrambler
thats just me though, although its worth nothing ive never tried either. i havent played since pre 1.8 actually.
i dont even know what the proto scouts look like.

No. Just no. I never run scout with anything elsea than PLC , Shotgun and sidearms.
People running scouts as light assaults with rifles make me sad. ( a little )

I have a proto gal scout.
I'm not really following. If you have a Gal scout, you can already run Ewar. Why would you want 3 scouts?
Go Min Assault. It's a blast.
Then again, everyone is about to be drowning in SP with respecs and 750k weekly cap. Go nuts and be reckless.
These decisions don't really matter anymore, nor do threads asking these types of questions.

I have both the Amarr and Cal scouts at proto.
I would suggest you get your EWAR maxed out before you get another suit.
That said, the Amarr is really good at only one thing -- scout hunting. And even then it's only marginal...and let's not forget the upcoming active scanner buff which will make the Gal Logi scans, which were already better in terms of dB, much more useful to your team. Let's also remember that all scouts can also get under the Amarr's scans, so they are only effective until your targets figure you out -- the the smart ones will drop on two dampeners and you'll never see them until you're effectively dead.
The Caldari, on the other hand, is good at both scout hunting and regular assaulting. It's shield tanking style lends itself to speed, and the range advantage its bonus provides is great.
Both scouts can become invisible to all scans, but the Amarr lose more HP in so doing -- and the Gal is better than them both.
So, from your choices, I'd pick the Caldari, personally, if I could have only one. I run it much more than Amarr, which has been relegated to passive scanning for squad/PC use.
All of the above said, I would suggest you hold off spending those SP on another scout suit. I suspect a big scout nerf to curb the suit's overuse is coming down the pike after 1.9. If you can hold off and spend those points on core skills, I think you'll be better served in the long run. Then again, if you have no issue with buying a respec, then spend away! |

How do you even have 2 Proto scouts without maxing out EWAR?
I have been here coming on 2 years and still only have 1 suit to proto (stupid Caldari scout SP...)
1.9 Where cloaked scouts give way to tanked scouts. Problem solved?

Until CCP makes the SMG cost less PG than a combat rifle, I will forever use the ACR over the SMG.
It has the same fire rate, more dps, and better range, all for less PG.
My Min Scout is strapped for PG as it is, I'll do anything to cut corners. Hell, it's why I ran Flaylock pre-buff on most of my fits. At 2 PG, I FORCED myself to get good with it.
On the bright side, I do think I'm one of the best flaylock users out there. A few months of diligent practice with a terrible weapon will do that.

If you have gallente get the cal, the amar precision isnt worth the now dampening its nothing like the old caldari, think of slot layouts, min is in the middle call is high and gal low, amar is fun but not dampened so its a waste cuz you may as well run the gkobut the cal has alot of funny suit designs you can create my new way is really mean lol.
two reactive plates and four shield, ive never bricked em out before but now i find it useful on a caldari

Get Amarr.
Caldari scouts are not useful anymore.
It used to be where Caldari were the only ones to have precision. This was good because caldari could work as an anti-scout and not many would exploit the precision to kill nonscout players, as people didn't really like caldari.
And now, it got aquite useless ewar skill change. Scanner radius. Unless you're able to give yourself a huge ass radius and give yourself super precision, it's not going to be benificial.
And that is why you don't use a caldari scout, unless you want to be sexy and the above thing.
Amarr are also great at speed tanking if you use good kincats because of their stamina.

Alright thanks to everyone who replied. Both seem interseting.
Here is what I will do : Will proto my EWAR
Get both scouts to level 3 .
See wich I like better.
Proto the one I prefer.
I am pretty sure that Amaar is more interesting, as I love to hunt scouts.

I notice that I can't outstrafe most fire even if I have nothing but ferroscales on my Cal Scout, yet if most Cal players are stacking regular armor plates and still outstrafing others, then I must be losing it. 
Give the Magsex some love.

Unfortunately it's the best dropsuit in the game when you put a rifle on it. PC is dominated by scouts with CRs and ScRs.
I want to be a shotgun scout but I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't buckle down and get a new rifle as well. (My AR isn't going to cut it.)
