Hi there!
RE's are absolutely OP against infantry as they deal damage that should only be done against vehicles.
I propose, as most people uses them as super powerful frezbee grenade, to create 2 types of damage for it: one anti infantry equal to the same tier grenade, and the other one anti vehicle beeing the same as now. (ex: Basic RE would do 300HP against Infantry and still 1250 against vehicle).
This way, people using them will still have the advantage of protecting a point with 2-3 RE's on it, or even putting them on a corner to blow up the first redberry at sight, but they'll have to skill into Adv-proto to be efficient!
There are no reason that basic RE deals twice more damage than a Core Locus nade.
What do you guys think about it?
TL;DR Create anti-infantry damages that match with the current grenade damages, and keep the same anti-vehicle damages as they are now.
Sorry for my bad english.

Dual profiles with separate damage tracks are idiotic.
This isn't a fix. The fix is putting inertia on scouts and fixing ewar.

So at least fixing RE's this way is a first step to stop the invisible carnage. I am a sentinel that gets instapopped by RE brilliant one.
I'm so sentinel happy in fact that I have all 4 of them at 5.
Until heavy spam is fixed (this requires sentinels to be evicted from CQC) RE and assassin scouts are the only real counter.
Once heavy role changes to support platform rather than cqc slayer then RE spam will fall off.

Most heavy players won't agree with your statement as most people are more attracted by kills than playing the objective.
Heavy spam is a real problem in Skirm/Dom, you're right, but RE's aren't always used against heavies. RE spam will never fall off as long as it can instapop any group of any suits in the game even at basic lvl. I used the sentinel example as they are the highest HP suits.
I think that both RE's AND heavy spam must be fixed at the same time. But I dont see how a HMG can be evicted from CQC :o

It's simple. You make tge HMG long range suppression and put a turn speed penalty on the weapon. That way you have a suppression platform with tactical weaknesses that make sense.
Take the burst and do not alter it. That way sents make good breaching units but fail at sustained CQC defensive fire.
Using a heavy suit in confined spaces as a defensive oerator makes no sense. Nor does changing the machinegun traditional role of long range suppression into CQC make sense. It's pure hollywood meta BS that needs to die.

It could be a good idea but that would mean that HMG would have the same meaning in battle as rifles. Such a change would mean a HUGE decrease of its dps or it'll be OP for sure.
This isn't a thread about fixing heavies though And I don't think CCP will ever change them to the way you describe them..
I'd like you (and others) to give me more feedback on my suggestion. (Better than "you are an idiot")

That's what the turn speed penalty is for. That way dast movers can take them out in close and the HMG heavy has a logcal and exploitable tactical weakness regardless of DPS.

As to your suggestion?
Put a 5 second detonation delay on it so you cannot frisbee the damn thing as a supernade
Hmm yeah it has been proposed many times before and I support this idea of increasing the delay. I dont remember why it has been rejected tho .-. At least with my suggestion scouts will still frisbee it but not as a supernade ;)

Devs never rejected it. They simply haven't commented on it.
Given the rise of heavy spam and the nerfing of grenades because they are, and I quote, "No-skill scrub weapons" RE are the room clearing meta.
Want yo make RE spam go away? Make nades a non-joke and more effective an option vs. Infantry than RE.

For every nerf inflicted there is another method players will find and utilize in order to get the same result you were trying to curtail.
Grenades got nerfed to near-worthlessness, and sentinels got super splash resists at right about the same time. Now RE are the new grenades, and if I remember correctly RE have a 2 second arming delay while nades have a what, 4 second fuse. ?
What's the point of nades again?

You can cook a nade before throwing but not with re. Nades died out when you couldnt sit on a hive and spam them like before. Which was a problem. |

They died when the fuse went to 4 seconds and core locus couldn't bust a militia mid frame open. Had nothing to do with the hive nerf.

Good one. Nearly shat my pants laughing. Heavies qill never be support. They are the definition of point defense which means slaying and doing it well. They are slow so they cant move from point to point, they dont have an equipmemt slot so they cant support, and their main weapon is balanced towards cqc combat.
Heavy spam is dominant and effective only if people dont know or take the time to counter them. As simple as that. There are many counters to heaviesnot just remostes and scouts.

wow, why is everyone so married to the idea that the HMG cannot be changed? It's the one instance in the game where the weapon dictates the role of the dropsuit rather than the dropsuit dictating the parameters of the weapon.
Change the HMG role, alter the sentinel. It's that simple.
Heavies in CQC make no sense whatsoever. If you fix the HMG for a different role, then CQC becomes the domain of the assault.
in short it follows a natural progression in real life:
"Grab 'em by the balls, and their hearts and minds will follow."
