Hey Mercs,
So as you know from this announcement by CCP Frame, Uprising 1.9 is coming to Tranquility on November 4th.
In order to deploy this update, we'll need to have an extended downtime, for a total of 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Deployment downtime will start at 10:00 UTC on November 4th, and will run through until 13:30.
We're excited to be bringing you Uprising 1.9! You can check out the full patch notes for this update here.

CCP good job on bringing back old players! Seriously! This Uprising Update (not trying to over-hype it) might be key update that has almost everything people wanted.

This is essentially expected. You've always had extended downtime for the deployment of a major patch, and not for a hot fix.
Will you at least started a stickied thread about when it goes down, and when it will come back online?
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

So basically it will be down until 7:30 AM local time? Perfect timing! I usually log on around 7:45-8:00 anyways.

Can't we just download the update during downtime? I mean, the client-side update would be through PSN so we could download the client and then just wait for downtime to end by bugging the Devs and GMs incessantly religiously watching the Forums and Twitter for when downtime finishes.

Right?
No, because during downtime is when the servers are updated with the patch. If you we're to download the update during downtime and you manage to finish before the server, then you'll be screwed as none of the assets in your client match those one the server (ie, Maps, UI, etc).
DUST would either keep crashing repeatedly or Tranquility will believe you have a modded client, meaning you wouldn't be able to log-in without it denying access to the server.
