Instead of the pilot idea, make it into a commando style suit, with two light weapon slots and one grenade slot with no equipment slot. Should look like this...
Light Commando A-1 2 light weapons, 1 grenade, 1 high, 1 low
Light Commando C-1 2 light weapons, 1 grenade, 2 high, 0 low
Light Commando G-1 2 light weapons, 1 grenade, 0 high, 2 low
Light Commando M-1 2 light weapons, 1 grenade, 1 high, 1 low
Stats on suits are exactly the same as scout suits.
I love the smell of orbital support in the morning!!!

There's this thing pretty similar to that already. It's called the Black Eagle Scout suit. |

I know, I still have 35 of em.. I was hoping they could be made into a purchasable dropsuit, we could spec into. Of course its insanely overpowered right now, but we gotta find a way to take out a knee so it can be added. I'm thinking even less slots then the OP Maybe no high's or low's until advanced tier.

I've always been of the mind that commandos should be light suits. Commandos IRL like SEALs aren't about full-frontal assaults. They perform recon and sabotage in advance of the main body. this seems like more of a light suit trait. No cloak bonus, no light weapon damage bonus, but able to wreak havoc behind enemy lines.
However, I doubt this idea will get traction. Commandos have been getting tweaked into the frontal assault role with emphasis on recovery.
Proof that Rattati/CCP do listen to the playerbase.

If you want 2 Light Weapons than invest into Commandos.

Mmm,a grenade slot would make this a noncommando suit.
-1 grenade slot
+ 1 equipment
If anything,they should be the assault variety of the light suit.
-1 module slot difference
+ less effective eWAR
Commando reload bonus of course.

Personally, I think the commando should be a light or med frame (low hp, very high DPS), and the logi should be a heavy frame similar to the commando (agility-wise).

40 mill sp. lvl 5 amarr commando, but i still think commando shouldnt be heavy...

Commando are known for agility and firepower. They dont carry equipment, but i agree with less slots and no ewar advantage.
