While I qualify for this, I am not a fan of unobtainable perks for most of the player base while a select few gets them...
My proposal, turn it into an account age bonus.
Beta testers will still reap the full benefits and that bonus should increase slightly every year. If a player started late, it's cool. Keep playing and you will get the reward eventually.

If I'm reading it right, time is a factor. I know our kills and whatnots are probably not recorded from the beta after all the hard resets they did to us. But, if time is a factor I would 'preciate a lil love seeing as some of us toiled in pshome to be among the first on this crazy ride. Two days a week.

A bpo would make more sense. Give beta vets a unique skin with unique colors.

I was a beta tester for closed beta! I remember when LAV was terrible, then got fixed, not worse than the original.
I would still not get this boost. Why? Well this account was never in the closed beta, Deadly Sniper and the original Sir Ravenwing happen to be a part of it though! I need to stop rambling on about things...
I would like something like beta vets getting better gear at the start, but not having exclusive gear.
