Hacking is fun, especially if you have a fast moving suit that can stay stealthily hidden.
This is not limited to only the MinScout. Most Scouts are capable of being super hackers. The same applies to the MinAss and MinLogi.
If ever you feel like screwing around, get those codebreakers to 5, slap one on any suit with a kincat, and go to town by hacking everything in Skirmish whilst deploying uplinks along the way.
In the end, you would have done more for your team than half of the people on your side. |

If there is one thing I learned from getting gunned down while hacking the objective in dom during an intense firefight:
No matter how fast you hack, it is always better to hack faster.
Hacking 5 is a pain with its 5x multiplier, but it is absolutely worth it
don't be that guy who gets shot in the face 0.1 seconds away from completing a hack because you didn't max it out |

WOW!
I just played a match with someone who must have had level 5 and a few complex mods. I was hacking and he came in and the timer went from beep-beep-beep-beep to bzzzzzt. I followed him to the next (he was kinned up too) and just watched. Took him 5 seconds to hack a CRU.
1.2 mil.........I'm so close to hitting that (X)

Yes It may be useful, so you can just go in domination/skirmish and farm points from hacking everything you find hackable

Have you ever had a time where you were hacking an objective and had one more "bar" left before the hack was complete only to be killed by someone randomly at the last possible second?
Hacking 5 prevents that, from my experience at least.
But yes, it is better in combination with a logi suit or a minmatar scout. Also, you unlock complex codebreakers.
If you have nothing else in dropsuit upgrades to spend that sp on, go ahead and do it. If you still have a suit, or a weapon, or something else that you would rather unlock, don't waste the sp.
I had hacking 4 for the longest time because there's always something better to spend your sp on...until you're like me and you have 50 million sp, with dropsuit upgrades tree maxed.

Lots of people say "if you're not playing w X suit than don't max Y skill, but if it's applicable to all suits it's at least slightly useful and if your cores are all maxed then you can branch out to which ever suit you want and not have to worry.
I've only got like 30M SP and the only core skills I've got left to max is lvl 5 scan radius and lvls 3-5 of biotics but now I can go where ever I want.

Hacking 5 is worth it everytime, regardless of suit IMO.
But if you only play Ambush, it's another matter...

Yes. All Passives are worth the SP.

I am now a level 5 1337 HAXOR!
Yes, I have often died just a split second before a completed hack. I haaaaaate when that happens. And I hack a LOT; it's 50% of my game. I just needed that last confirmation from the crowd, so thanks everybody.
Now ALL of my Dropsuit Upgrades passives are maxed 5.
Cyzad4, I highly recommend Biotics 5.
I've got 4.7 mil SP left to spend; enough to max all weapon passives to 5! (Well, except hmg, I hate hmg  ).
Then after that everything I spend sp on will be new toys.
...I still have yet to spec a suit

If so (and you can't think of another way to spend your SP resulting in more efficacy on the battlefield) then it's worth it.
I went hacking 5 a long time ago, because, to me, hacking a point (and the wins that result) is more important than just about anything else in this game. |

yes it is most definatly worth it for any and all suits regardless of weather or not you fit hacking tools..
it makes winmatar suits hack even faster! (minmatar suits get a base bonus to hacking speed 15-20% and scout gets 5% per level ONTOP of that)
and makes non WINmatar suits hack not as sluggishly

Honestly worth it on ANY suit. People say that due to the min scout having the fastest hack skil in general.
The less time your character spends on their tac computer the more time you are able to stay mobile and the less time you have your face stuck to whatever it is your hacking.
Hacking was one of the first things I maxed out and I never regretted any points put into it.
You can also use the codebreakers and its like multiple people are hacking with you.
Compared to my characters without hacking skill, it is so quick to take things from the reds.
Its ultimately your call, but honestly I prefer having my hack skill up. Leaves me less vulnerable.
Then again I tend to play solo.
Dedicated Stealth Scout.
Pay attention to your surroundings or your getting 2 in the back of the head.

1.2 million SP is nothing. That's a week and a half of work, unboosted. Take everything to 5 from now on.

Hack V is one of the most useful skills in the game.
With most suits, it lets you hack in 7.5 seconds instead of 10.
That's 2.5 seconds.
How many times have you been killed on the last few bars? Not anymore.
Its one of the 6 skills everyone should have MAXED no exceptions.
For the curious, those six skills are Shield Upgrades, Armor Upgrades, Electronics, Engineering, Hacking, and Biotic Upgrades
Those 6 skills maxed gives you the following passives on every suit you will ever play:
25% more shields
25% more armor
5% faster sprint speed (free basic kincat), 5% stamina and stamina regen
25% more CPU
25% more PG
25% faster hack speed.
DO IT. GET THESE ALL TO FIVE.

yeah, biotics is on my todo list but near the bottom since it's only like 5% at max and since I'm running Gal assault w few plates it equals out to prob 1/16th of a second sprint time.

I went from no biotics straight to 5 and have no regrets. You will definitely notice the boost in speed, even with plates.

Why not? Starting next week if you cap and log in everyday you will make 960,00 ISK per week without even boosting.
