New Heavy Weapons. I don't know why, but I had my heart set on at least 2 more Heavy weapons for racial parity and to give fatties some options outside Forge, HMG, and "F***ing noob why are you using a light weapon." I was hoping for something like a medium range, high alpha damage, low ROF (like 100 meters, 200 DPS, 180-200 RPM) rifle and something along the lines of a Mass Driver on uber steroids like a mobile mortar launcher or something.
Who else was REALLY hoping for these? I know I'm not the only one. On that note, what ISN"T in 1.9 you were wishing for that isn't coming (PVE we knew was not happening so let's get that out there right now.)

I've dabbled with the militia plasma cannon just to see how I liked it. I just never seemed to get the handle of it.

HAHA.. I was waiting for that. I just feel like we could use some different weapons to give some variety. Everyone is always complaining about Sentinels with HMGS. Give them something other than an HMG to pick up and use. Right now the options are, stand still for 3 seconds and charge an uber weapon with no sight that, if I don't hit, I'm dead, and a 30 meter buzzsaw. Why aren't their options in between?

Its basicaly RPG but instead of rocket propeled nades its spits plasma, i saw many boyos using that with really big efficiency. Give it try, fully speced its beast against tanks or infantry

I remember hearing about the Scrambler Lance. I thought I heard it was nixed because of fears it would be too OP. I haven't heard of any other weapons, heavy or otherwise. Of course I'm not in the loop like you are.

Yeah, I've seen it and played with it. I just sucked with it. Of course I'm using a militia variant so that MAY have something to do with it.

Theres no heavy weapons yet because they aren't even ready for legion. 1.9 is all Legion progress thats easy enough to put on PS3.

Thank you for that info. I'm not even looking into the info on Legion because once Dust goes cold, I'm done. I'm not spending $1500 on a gaming computer for one game I will probably have to pay a subscription for.

we need an amarr gun and a gallente gun.
amarr should be mix of scrambler and laser. call it the Beam Lance. charge and hold, release to fire at maximum damage output, not building up over time like the laser rifle, then a mandatory forced cooldown.
so 3 second charge, 6 second fire, 3 second cooldown, repeat. and it counts as one charge out of the clip. clip would be small. 50% on, 50 off. values can be adjusted as necessary.
not sure what the gallente weapon would be. coolest i can think of is the opposite of an hmg, slow fire rate, high damage, and the bullets burn you over to deal damage over time for a few seconds. maybe call it an antimatter accelerator, or void or xenon rifle after the tech 2 hybrid ammo in eve. i prefer xenon rifle to go with plasma rifle as the replacement name for the assualt rifle. OR a short ranger Plamsa Torch. like a mix between a stream of plasma and electricity. basically a flamethrower but itd be a plasma arc instead of a conventional flame. and itd drain like a laser rifle. 150 clip with a high firerate
both work in gallente lore at least. the flamethrower could theoretically be an anti vehicle weapon, almost like a repair tool in battlefield, get close and torch the vehicle from behind/side.

LOVE the second idea. Either one of those would work. The problem with the first one is it is too much like the forge gun. 3 second charge, shoot, rinse, repeat. Why do that if we already have the Forge? That is why I was suggesting something along the lines of an EMP style rifle. it has range somewhere around the middle of an Assault rail rifle but does more alpha damage (like 225 DPS) but has a much slower ROF (like 175 RPM). If you can only fire once every 1/2 second, keeping aim will be more challenging, offsetting the increase damage. You still "technically" have an automatic rifle but it takes a while for the rounds to feed so the user will have to keep the weapon on target the entire time. Strafing, bunny hopping scouts will be basically 2 shot, but they will be damn near impossible to hit due to the slower Rate of Fire

A Forge gun is 1200 DPS. It is basically a cannon. I'm talking like 200 DPS but the same style of weapon as the Rail Gun. I just used that as an example because it has the slower ROF but is still technically an automatic weapon. Thanks for the sarcasm and lack of contribution to the discussion.

There is something else I think would be interesting to add to this game that would take it to a WHOLE different level. Different Ammunition choices. What if on a combat rifle, you could choose between standard rounds, tracer rounds, micro explosive rounds, etc. They each do the same amount of base damage but would have different effects to, say, shields, armor, etc. I came up with the idea when I was looking at Sniper Rifles on the Dust Wiki. This was in their explanation:
The standard round is a 2-inch GÇÿbeehive' flechette, loaded automatically from a center-mount pack. The pack design eliminates user intervention and minimizes reload time while simultaneously allowing for future upgradeability; different ammunition configurations require nothing more than switching out the rifle's pack."
That to me SCREAMS ammo adaptability and change. It could be in a sub-skill book after getting proficiency at a weapon to 3. Then you can go in and purchase a single level skill book for, say, 1 million SP, to change the type of round you fire from that weapon and it changes the composition of the weapon. When you choose your weapon in fitting build, if you have multiple options of ammunition, you can select the type of ammunition in that fit from a "sub" menu that pops up
