I wanted to ask you something. Now with the RR (this was needed) nerf in place when will you either:
A. Strip the Gal, Min, Amar from my Cal assault reload bonus, because they're just as effective with the RR as my Cal assault
B. Give my Cal assault a unique bonus to make the RR actually shine on the suit it's designed for. Kind of like a unique bonus that the Minmatar and Amarr have.

I've been fighting for a recoil reduction per level for a while now. It's something unique to make it worth speccing into the suit and weapon combination

Prior to this change however the bonus would have done nothing for your though.

I'm still confused how a metal slug/canister fired through magnetic induction can even HAVE recoil.
If it's for balance though, fine.
IMO they should just remove all kick/recoil from the thing, and increase damage a shot to like 70-80 and reduce RoF by like 30-40%, but that's just me being stupid.
I'd honestly wish they find a way to make it less effective at CQC by like a diminishing Capacitor that has to be respun(let go, fire again) and give it no recoil and curent DPS.
Example: .5 second charge time(net +.17) fires at 666 RPM(like current), RoF begins slowing down at 10-13 rounds, finally "stopping" at 400 RoF at 18-20 rounds.
you can either continue firing at 400 RoF for the rest of the mag, or stop, respin and fire at 666 RoF for another 15-20 rounds.
Please CCP, stop the madness of giving railguns RECOIL.
As for the Assault bonus: We could either be insane and give it a straight Effective(not Optimal) range bonus, or be more sane(and boring) and give it a plain reduction to the RoF slowdown of like 10% per level.
start 666 RoF, slows to 400 (without bonus) net change 266 RoF. with proposed assault bonus: 666 RoF, reduces by 266(0.9 through .5, depending on level.) 133 loss at max level, resulting in a 533 RoF for remainder of mag.
All i ask, is either a "You're stupid Lynn, stop trying to be smart" or a "Wow, that actually works, thanks for continuing to think, even while everyone hates your ideas."
Of course though, i haven't played in about 3-4 months or so, so i expect this to be the former.

Not true, the RR nerf was in the pipeline for a while because of the witch hunt that was started against it. So I asked for it in advance so that both changes could be implemented at the same time |

But that's like me suggesting that Laser weapons should have no recoil. I'm shooting light, or...more technically electricity following plasma induced path of least resistance.

Because energy? Unless the weapon is 100% efficiency in converting all energy barring sound energy (which technically is kinetic energy also) into kinetic energy to the projectile any excess e from the system will be either light, sound, and mechanical (recoil). So unless the weapon was bolted to the ground to allow the mechanical energy to disperse through the ground or some other way of dispersing the energy EFFICIENTLY there will be recoil. Plus balance, it's a game.

You're missing my point though, in Rail weaponry the slug/bullet/tincan that is fired isn't using a propellant, like normal bullet weapons.
The thing is, the bullet isn't being "pushed" by anything other than this mysterious "magnetism" thing. This slug isn't touching the borders of the gun, other than for being "spun" up(making the plasma payload volatile from a stable state)
Of course though, if CCP or a CPM can tell me "it's just there for balance" then i'll shut up. It's just my personal "well i would have done _______ and not ______"

Doesnt matter how or with what you push something, it pushes right back, dats physics yo. Do something for me. Take a big, BIG magnet(one of those monofilimadidadoo magnets from Amazon, yeah those super powerful ones) and push a 2 foot thick steel ball with it(or whatever the limit is on those things.)
You, holding the magnet, will feel NO resistance when pushing the ball, however the ball will move. On the other hand, if you were to push that magnet further towards it or if the ball had it's own magnetic field(like from repeatedly running a magnet along a metal object) it would push back, and you would feel an eery sense of resistance(or attraction) towards the metal ball.
As long as the item you're pushing has no magnetic field of it'sown, and you aren't physically touching the object, there will be no push on you.

well ideally caldari could have range or dispersion bonuses to ALL hybrid weapons. to match how they are in eve. rails are used by both gallente and caldari. as are blasters.
gallente just get damage and rof themes bonuses and caldari usually get range/falloff bonuses. so a gal does better damage with a shotgun or sniper but a cal has more range on a shotgun or sniper. to fit each of their playstyles.

It's not magnetism. It's actually more of a principle of electricity. When you complete the electrical current between the two rails (through the slug) the circuit tries to expand as big as it possibly can, this moves the charge up the rails at an extreme pace until the point where the circuit is broken and then the slug is 'fired'. It's really difficult to make the rails smaller while still getting speed and accuracy from the slug.
Unlike gauss weaponry which has to be ferromagnetic, rail weaponry simply has to be electrically conductive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQNHsS-BNs4

You are moving a object through a medium like air at a hypersonic velocity...and as you can see rail guns kick back in that video. Didn't click the link, but i see where that's going, somethign about the ridiculous speeds of hte bullet throwing air around violently, and thus throwing off the shooter's aim, not from "recoil" perse, but from the environment's reaction to the ridiculously highspeed projectile?
Okay then. I'll shut up about Rail Kick.
