Okay, so 1.9 is coming. Quick thoughts:
* Balance changes are balance changes. Have to see what happens really.
* Selling to NPC is alright, I guess. If we aren't going to be able to do anything with all the crap we have might as well hock it at 15%.
* Aurum purchase to get better NPC deals? This seems like a nickle and dime.
* Aurum respecs? I am alright on this overall. DUST is not going to expand so what is the harm in having it? If it weren't half a year of hotfixes with no real sign of growth (save this patch) I think it would be a bad idea.
* End of battle boosters? I like it.
* Double SP from WP? Good, which leads into...
* 750,000 SP Soft Cap a week? Means a lot more playing in order to cap out but it means people are only playing TO cap. Which leads into the real problem...
* Booster stacking.
You see, it is the last two that has me really worried. Let's take a look:
24k SP a day, 168k a week Passive. 750k a week Active. Let's add some boosters. How about 3 of each regular and passive boosters.
1 base + .5 + .5 + .5 = 2.5 x 918k = 2,295,000 SP. That costs quite a bit, about 60 dollars a month. But what if you are Gill Bates and spend 168,000 Aurum a month on 6 Omega Boosters?
1 base + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4 x 918k = 3,672,000 SP. Now that is massively huge and expensive. But even just a single Active and Passive booster is 1,377,000 SP. What am I getting at? Well, here is the Chicken Little bit:
"There is no way in Hell this is going to transfer over to Legion." Unless Legion also adopts this clear Pay to Win strategy, which we all seriously hope is not true, our SP cannot transfer over. It was bad enough already but if you think into the fact that it will probably be a year AT LEAST before there is any kind of Legion thing, assuming it is a thing, you are looking at people having over 47 million extra SP without paying a cent. To those that did pay, it feels like a stab in the back. Even if that is not the case...
CCP, we were chomping at the bit to get 4 seconds of clip.

You may argue that Legion is just a new game and your customer base does not need a lot of new information. "People know that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare 2 will come out within 18 months, so what does it matter about Legion?" The reason it matters is because DUST was not meant to be that and we put faith into CCP to deliver. This would be like if Bungie said "See you in Destiny 2!" and walked off the stage after praising the community and showing a tech demo.
I cannot stress this enough; you have customers that are (allegedly) sneaking high quality cameras into theaters to capture 4 SECONDS of footage and we are analyzing it closer than a CSI team studying the JFK video.
As an aside, I was going to drop this in the Legion General Discussion but there has not been a Dev post in that forum for nearly 3 months...
