well theirs a pet drone in playstation home that will follow you around and has animations as he flys around.

Well,this particular AUR investment decreases market costs.
Unless it's temporary it'll have some major concsequences later on.
Such as:excess ISK reducing the need for AUR,thus making Dust 514 semi-p2w

You can still do everything with in-game money. But the agent is a bonus offering for AUR, which will (slightly) fast track your ISK gain if you're selling off all your salvage.
