I began this as a response in another thread, but its too tangential to that thread, and deserves a thread of its own.

Legion, which probably has been green lit without telling us (for oh so many good reasons) since we have seen it in a freaking movie. After the last Fanfest, I suspect a lot of players primarily associated CCP Rouge's name with the "Rouge wedding," i.e. the Dust announcement that focused on describing where Legion might go, that left much of the Dust player-base afraid that Dust was being left to wither. Well, here's patch 1.9 happening, precisely what the players back then were afraid wouldn't ever happen again.
People don't always get the credit or blame they deserve. I don't know the degree to which CCP Rouge spends his time working on Dust or Legion. I've heard that CCP Rouge played some part in getting CCP Ratatti on board, and that seems to have gone really well, Ratatti earning lots of praise and respect from the player-base. If CCP Rouge did significant work on getting us the 1.9 patch, I'd like to know, and I'd like the player-base to know.
I think that would go a long way toward correcting any lingering misconceptions from the last Fanfest; although I can see the downside of lingering on past miscommunications, instead of just focusing on the future. I'm hoping that when the next Fan fest happens, CCP Rouge shares with us as much as he can about the future of Dust and Legion. I'm hoping that the player-base's overreaction at the last Fanfest, didn't teach CCP to prefer keeping us in the dark, over letting us in on whatever projects they're cooking, even if they are distant and speculative.

Rouge f'ed us over, then after his one post regarding FF hasn't bothered talking to us since.
Rattati and Logibro are the only two (that come to mind off the top of my head) that deserve any real credit. Maybe some others behind the scenes.
Rouge could go back to EA for all I care.

My first ever time being cross quoted!!!
From what I've read on the forums from CSM members and from talking to a dev or two during games, I can say that Rouge reads most everything on the forums and plays under a multitude of alts all the time. Rattati is here all the time too, and even makes his presence known with sometimes helpful information and his sarcastic wit.
The Fanfest of 2014 was a clusterf#ck of epic proportions when it came to Dust and Legion. The demo we got during the Dust presentation was to be followed up with a broadcasted Q&A immediately following. Obviously that didn't happen. We were supposed to get the info we screamed for right then, instead and in true CCP fashion, we got nothing but more questions as they stumbled through a now massive PR mistake.
As to Rouge and Rattati, I can only give my gratitude for their continued advancement of Dust (and presumably Legion). I know from dealing with CCP for almost a decade that sometimes they have grandiose plans that flop (Incarna), problems with coding that destroy computers (del c:\boot.ini), and sometimes list development ideas as definitive plans. In the long run, they are the only people trying to make games that fit into a persistent universe with persistent, yet constantally evolving, game play. |

CCP Rattati does not have the authority to gain access to the Devs that do map design without CCP Rouge signing off on it. So, yes, CCP Rouge was definitely at least partially responsible for us getting Patch 1.9.
Also, the decision not to tell us about Legion before the DUST 514 Key Note was made higher up the food chain than CCP Rouge. Rouge was not allowed to tell us before that. Also, CCP Rogue was under the impression that the Round Table following the DUST 514 Key Note was going to be televised and it wasnGÇÖt. So in many respects CCP Rouge was victimized by the Rouge Wedding as much as we were. Or, you could argue that he was more victimized than we were, as many ended up blaming him for the **** show, making it a major blow to his reputation.

Rouge should be dethroned by Rattati and Rattati should take his place. Honestly after PR debacle with FF is Rattati only good thingie what CCP have
