Now people will just ask for FREE respecs.

I'm not mad though. It's just business.

I'm not mad though. It's just business. Look at it like Dust 514 is an extended Kickstarter for Legion. The aurum respecs are just a way to reward people willing to contribute more money to Legion.
Hey console fans: I hear one of the stretch goals is Legion for PS4

CCP should at least discount respecs now for returning vets.
Fix mouse support in Dust 514!

Jenza lost her bid saying it would never happen...
Besides that...I feel like the sun is setting on Dust, all of these feel-good changes like respecs to keep whatever is left of dust happy. At least Legion will happen one day.

At least I'm glad about the other changes coming. Kind of like having a tax-deducted Margarita at a police precinct after making someone give up their money and property under Civil Forfeiture Law.

I'm ok with one respec given to new players early on in addition to CCP being more clear and defined about the roles of each weapon and suit. At least there the new players have a legit reason to get one. Veterans, not so much.
Besides, isn't it kind of unnecessary given the fact that the weekly SP cap will be bumped up to 750,000 SP along with triple stacking boosters and increased SP payouts via the Loyalty Ranking system?

I imagine they did this so that players who cannot afford aurum can still buy the skills they want in a reasonable amount of time; cutting down on the grind a bit.
And yeah, I feel like giving new characters a free respec after leaving the academy would be useful.

They already were asking for free respecs.... You can't say "Now" because the original requests were all free based. It's kind of like saying "Now they're going to want computers that run on ELECTRICITY."
Also, your emoticon is from bahbby-garten. When you grow up you want to be a potato.
Also, is not a cycle if it does not garner a response. Sending a pile of requests that are not replied to designates a non-cycle, because there is no completion to it.

A bit more cynical than me; I view it as CCP being somewhat surprised that Rattati and co. have managed to keep Dust alive and kicking (and more importantly, IMPROVING) and so they've decided to see if they can't make some more money out of it and see if they can keep us around to join Legion.

The pattern has repeated itself more times than you can fathom. DUST Forum dwellers rise, evolve, make threads, and at the apex of their whining they are extinguished by devs saying no. The Tankers were not the first. They did not start the refund requests. They did not forge the mass threads. They merely copied them - the legacy of my kind.

For Legion I would like an option to unlearn skills rather than a respect option.
Unlearning should happen over time, slowly transferring the skill points out of a skill and back into your skill point pool. The skill level becomes unlearned when you initiate the process, but it would take days or weeks to drain all the skill points out of it.
This would allow corrections to your skill plan, without fast FTM changes.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.
