Pretty straightforward question, really.
DUST is a fairly small community and not that well known of a game. Just wondering how each of us got into the game.

I love the eve universe and was excited to hear about dust. Forgot about it for about a year then my friend called me and said he got the beta. I went over to his house and saw they had dropships, that sealed the deal for me. Bought a ps3 and closed beta access.

Invited by a beta player who apparently had no faith in the game because he wouldn't ever talk about it. Quit a long time before I came around. Something about broken mechanics and him not knowing what a dropship was.

It's a good question and probably deserves a longer answer.
But I think you must be of the personality type that can see the big picture and evaluate and plan the long term, given the nature of the game. Like starting and actually finishing college, just as an example.
Those types that want to play a game in which they are good right away and want instant gratification will wash out.
But that is the hook of this game. If you can get excited about increasing armor damage by 3% after grinding for it for a week, then you will fit in just fine here.

In January of 2013, I was low on cash but wanted to make use of my new PS+ subscription so I checked the PSN store to see what I could get for free or at a discount price. Dust popped up and I thought, "Cool, a Halo rip-off for the PS3." |

Went in to beta with my former clan (i was with them since MAG), but after all that nonsences what was before with dust im practicaly the last one who stayed.
I left our corp what is basicaly death and made mine "one-boyo" one 
"Nanohives, repairs or droplinks, just ask me on field i can tink anything"

started hearing about it in MAG over a year before the first beta. Started playing EVE and then eventually got a dust private beta code.

Hmmmm it goes like this
-2009 Trailer, liked its gritty sci fi vibe.
-2012 bought the Alpha never downloaded
-2013 created Minmatar Artificer, deleted 4 hours later.
-2013 created Caldari Enforcer and picked up the laser.
-2013 spent with Dead Six Initiative learning to play and helping form Lokun Listamenn
-2013 Lokun imploded and scatters, Snufbox member heading back to Tannolen, Sansha's Nation Loyalists heading to Stain. me heading to PIE Inc.
After that I was hooked on the Amarr and FW.

My brother invited me at the end of last year because he wanted the recruit / staff bonuses. Never thought i'd get into it. Now I play it whenever I can.

Was looking for a replacement to fill the time while I waited for Star Wars Battlefront (III).
Was either Dust 514 or Planetside 2 (buying a PS3 or buying a laptop at the time).
I'm extremely happy with the decision I made; Dust has its own special place in my heart now.

If I have a ps4 when it comes out yes. Does it need oculus as well?

Got my new PS3 and it had free 20k AUR, went upstairs tried it out. Loved it. I got it around the end of 1.4 so ive been here a while.
Had to start all over cause told mom i would delete her email, she let me use hers for PSN, the second i created mine, which i did.
So had to restart all over again but im getting good so its no big deal. Been scout since ivstarted. Love my role even now.

Wanted to play but wasn't going to get a console to do it.
Had kids.
Kids grew some.
Kids wanted Skylanders.
Skylanders then becomes an excuse to get a PS3.
Start playing DUST at the completely wrong time.
Should have waited a year, laughed at CCP's pathetic attempt at branching out and bought a Wii.
I would have been sitting and watching them play while I drink beer rather than the game imposing on my drinking.

I hope Valkyrie can be played without the VR headset. I have motion sickness and that will make me absolutely throwup. I go to a fair and the only thing I can ride is the house of mirrors or the carousel. My kids ride the twisty, upside down rides like nothing.

I went to download Defiance cause I love the show and saw this and decided to try it. I played defiance for like a week and have been super impressed with dust and shocked I had never heard of it before. Been a PC and console gamer my whole life/mmo rockstar/beta fungineer and not even a whisper I don't get it.
