this is ridiculous ive played this game for almost 3 years now cant hit people using key board and mouse utter worst garbage ive ever seen or atleast improve it on controller no matter how hard i try on my ds4or ds3 i cant match the kbm speed please fix this is being very abused right now

THERE IS NO STRAFE ADVANTAGE. I urge you to test it for yourself but no doubt you wont and you will just continue to claim something with no proof.

I have KB/M and a controller. I have pressed A + D + A + D to go left and right. I then picked up the controller and pressed left then right then left then right on the left analogue stick...... the results are the same.
Get a KB/M and try it for yourself. The only thing I would say is its a little easier to do fast on a KB/M but you CAN do the EXACT same thing with controller just make sure you move your fingers fast on the stick and you will see there is no difference.

i used to feel like i had good understanding of this game now i swear all my fittings are garbage or the past month i took break from games i lost my edge playing scrubby game after game makes me not want to play anymore and i have pretty fleshed out skillsheet into caldari so either my **** got ninja nerfed or im just a scrub now

Same as others said, there's no real life difference (while in theory there is).
Someone claimed elsewhere there is no movement inertia, actually there is similar effect in form of char acceleration of sorts so that prevents the absolute direction change at full speed.
Maybe network delay and client balance effect make it look the opposite?
Watch vids by big slayers like Saxonmish (known controllerpad user) and watch him outstrafe reds like magic.
People would enjoy Dust a lot more if they accepted the fact that EVERYTHING is subject to change

Agreed.
Pretty much all of the top players in this game use the controller. KB/M is too gimped to be effective. You guys that are really good with controller have no disadvantages and if you so chose, you have aim assist that really makes it unfair for us KB/M lot.
But I enjoy this game, I try not to get annoyed by the handicap of using KB/M because if n when we get Legion, I will feel like a weight has been lifted off of my mouse aiming shoulders. I look forwards to those days.

There is no advantage, except perhaps when tanking, or using a sniper rifle or forge gun. To the contrary, it is a huge disadvantage, and it is no coincidence all the top players in dust use the DS3.
What I expect the OP is experiencing is slow frame rates combined with fast-strafing scout or min assault suits, which makes hitting targets difficult. Unfortunately, everyone faces this from time to time. Hopefully some of that will be fixed with the rumored improved rendering and frame rates in 1.9. We can only hope..... |

It's not KB/M thats the strafe problem...it's simply the strafe speed itself, I never thought it was so bad until I went from Commando to Min Assault, now I'm strafing faster than heavy frames can turn their gun. THAT IS THE PROBLEM!!!!
Not that your using a DS3, not that their using a KB/M it's because strafing should be at least only half your normal move speed, as it is now, you strafe as fast as you move forward.

The only advantage I think KB/M has at the moment is ground vehicle controls as it is a *little* easier to turn. The counter is that there is NO fine speed control. When I press W, my tank is rolling at full speed. For a tank, not really a problem. Trying to drive a damn LAV with a STOP or GO button is a nightmare.

Strafing is actually slower. I don't recall the ratio, but for some reason 0.85 sticks in my mind.

figured out my main issue is trying to fight too many people at once lol i went on alt with 500 000 sp and wrecked people so other part is people tryhard to kill my main as i havnt seen proto spam like i do on my main either

there is no advantage to kbm. it is just physically harder to strafe on the DS3. the analog movement is harder than keys, but its not that bad.

How do you know someone's using kbm unless you're mailing every person you see strafing and ask them?
Kbm is definitely not OP, but for some of us, it is easier to use. It definitely doesn't need nerfed! |

Congratulations, you're an idiot. If you had actually tried the KB/M, you would know that the things that you are blithering on about (like the idiot you are) are, in fact, completely false.
Is pressing "A-D-A-D" faster than twitching an analog stick back and forth? Certainly. Is it actually a noticeable difference in the bloody game? Not even a little bit.
Quite frankly, I never really have an issue tracking people "super-strafing" side-to-side unless I'm at point blank- and I use a freakin' mouse. However, I have incredible difficulty just trying to track people who are circle or figure-8 strafing- two strafing methods that are incredibly fluid and easy on a DS3, but, quite frankly, are impossible if you use a keyboard.
As far as "turbo mice"... In theory, my G500s can be programmed with a macro. Quite frankly, I don't even know how to set that up, and, more to the point, I cannot see any practical reason to attempt to do so. Maybe it's just me and my playstyle, but I really cannot see the value of using some kind of macro.
Insofar as the dpi issue... quite frankly, dpi is almost irrelevant for using a mouse with DUST. Part of this has to do with the fact that DUST runs on UE3, an engine notorious for terrible mouse performance, and the other part has to do with how the PS3's OS interfaces with USB devices. It's a moderately complicated topic that I rather doubt your plebeian console peasant mind can even begin to comprehend.
Oh yeah, I went there.
