Just saw John Wick - and damn the quality of Legion looks great!
As for those pissed at CCP - this was not someone playing the game, it was just video that lasted about 10 seconds. Also, quit feeling entitled. CCP has no obligation to show you anything - the fact that they include you in what they have is their prerogative. Enjoy what you have and be an adult.

Way to go CCP. : P
CCP is not obligated by any laws to keep you informed. Also, you have to understand that video game companies often keep things a secret because... well... let's face it. We players are the true dicks around here. We jump to conclusions before we even have any definitive evidence and tend to overreact when we don't understand something. We come up with wild conspiracy theories about what CCP is really doing. Theories that often make the Brian Helgeland Film look rational. We constantly accuse the CPM of being in bed with CCP. We constantly bring up all of their mistakes of the past ($1000 jeans anyone?).
Yet some of us here have the arrogance to call CCP a bunch of dicks. Hilarious.

Ahem, I'm a **** to CCP as well. Anyone here who knows me well enough will tell you that I have no problem calling out on CCP's mistakes. Someone has to constantly remind CCP of their Rouge Wedding, or Monoclegate, or their failed Incarna expansion, or their $1000 jeans analogy, or Greed is Good letter, or failure of World of Darkness, or their Boot.ini, and mismanagement of their staff. I can go on.

Well CCP f*cked with a lot of things when it comes to dust so it is reasonible for it's playerbase to question how it is doing things the second time around.
If i have problem with an apple product and whenever i call customer support they pick up the phone say "F*ck off" then hang up. You are not going to make a lot of people happy then you will just be developing the product for no one. Just because there is no law binding them to something does not mean they should be allowed to get away with whatever they want because we are the people paying for the game.
I think the first person you quoted is a dumbass but none the less a lot of people have the right to be concerned with the way CCP is doing things.

True. We should be reasonably critical of CCP at times. But does that mean we should always resort to wild accusations and conspiracy theories like what I have seen the community (both in Dust and in Eve Online) do for years?

I don't know but after all we've been through with this game and after all the feedback we've been giving and trying to help CCP shape this game I honestly have the feeling that if they have something to show we should be the first audience to see it.
We haven't heard anything about legion in months even though we have been begging for more information or just a sign that the game is alive/greenlit and now some people watching a random movie are gonna see new footage before we do? Bad taste.
I mean where is the problem? If you have footage that you are willing to show a ton of people in the theatres why not show it to us, your loyal player base?

I see what you mean. I would feel bummed out too. But let's be realistic here. How many of those people in theaters would even recognize Project Legion in a 5-10-second scene in a 2-hour film? Despite all of the media attention given to Project Legion some time ago, the vast majority of the public at large don't even know Legion exists at all. I still run into people in real life and online who never even heard of Dust let alone Legion. I bet the vast majority of the audience didn't even realize they were the first to see a glimpse of Project Legion. Kind of like that one scene from the movie Demolition Man where Sylvester Stallone's character heard from this female character that there is an Arnold Schwarzenegger Presidential Library in San Angeles. It was a funny scene and no one took it seriously because it was funny. Fast forward from that and eventually Arnold (in real life) became the Governor of California (out of office by now obviously). It's going to be the same **** all over again with John Wick and that one scene of Project Legion when everyone looks back at this movie and think "holy crap, I never knew".

I still run into people in real life and online who never even heard of Dust let alone Legion. I bet the vast majority of the audience didn't even realize they were the first to see a glimpse of Project Legion. And that makes it even worse, doesn't it? Instead of showing your new footage to the people that genuinely care for your product and are dying to know what is going on, they give it to an audience that is indifferent towards it at best.
It doesn't matter how insignificant the footage is, it might not even be worth discussing really. You know, I don't want to exaggerate and make a moutain out of a molehill but from my perspective this has something to do with respect. And it sometimes seems to me that CCP, or at least their guys in marketing, don't show an awful lot of it towards the DUST player base.
If they have footage that they are willing to show to the public, then I really don't understand why they aren't showing it to us as well. Anyway, no big deal, really, just slightly disappointed.

The movie is supposed to be really good. Can't believe it has legion gameplay in it. Hopefully this means some gameplay videos will actually be released by CCP, on you know, like their YouTube channel.
So weird how footage from a unfinished unreleased game made it's way into the latest Keanu Reeves movie. Must be a story there.

The environment looked pretty slick from what I could tell, but it was some very brief flashes. The "player" was aiming down the sights of what was obviously an Assault Rifle, which of course made it hard to see his surroundings. He was shooting at a basic caldari assault, and getting kill assists. The sound really jumped out at me, because the AR did not sound quite like it does in Dust. A slightly deeper sound I'd say.
The biggest "news" (which probably means nothing) was the fact that he was playing on his TV. With a controller. On a console.
Of course, he was shot about six seconds later, so who knows what's really true. The first person to make a GIF of CCP snipers capping that guy will have my undying love

I believe you can even run a computer game with an iPhone as a controller. A controller and a television screen doesn't mean it is on a console.
Here is the stupid thing about that product placement; the only people that are going "ohhh, look at that; I WANT IT!" are people that already know about the damn product! That is like playing ads for Microsoft products while people are standing at the checkout to purchase Office...
Go figure that the most interesting thing to come out about Legion is "holy sh**! They purchased ad space!" -»\_(pâä)_/-»

The presumed console was not visible at all, and the controller was implied by the way the guy was holding and moving his hands.
He was reclining on a couch, headphones on, staring at a tv about five feet away. That to me says he's playing a console, but it is conceivable that he had his PC rig hooked up to a television and a controller adapter.
