Can't fit both a nitro and scanner yet - gotta pick one. You need to max your fittings skills, just as you would with dropsuits. Then you can fit complex armor modules and turrets, increasing survivability and lethality. I hope you've got 50 Creodron Breach HAV's. Give the Magsex some love.

The Double Hardener one above is the go to. Generally, it is best to stagger the hardeners to get the biggest upkeep of them but it is quite useful to use both in a TvT situation. For the Soma, if you want to save some cash in not having to throw on a Blaster, there are only three real choices for the lows: Double Repairer: Really good at taking light, sustained damage. Get a good Forger shooting at you and you are toast if you can't get away fast enough because of the lack of hardener. Repairer + Hardener: Not as great as dealing with the sustained damage but gets a lot of EHP and Healing Per Second out of that hardener. You give up HPS for the ability to absorb more damage for a given time. Militia Hardener has a cooldown that can be measured in ice ages though. Repairer + Plate: Pretty much the middle man to the above two. A plate is worth less EHP than a hardener but a plate is always active. The idea with this one is a more hit and run. Get into an area, fire off your rounds, get out of there once you start to lose more HP than you are comfortable with. A lot like the Hardener one but you give up the ability to have more EHP on demand so that you are more consistent overall. None are perfect, they have their disadvantages and advantages. Short trips around infantry then scoot off and come around again. Keep rolling over or under or around other tanks. Don't get into straight aways that let a tank keep shooting you. Use terrain. A Sica/Gunnlogi with a Particle Accelerator is lobbing shots at a CRU (baka) in a losing match. I pull out my Madrugar and engage him from behind, and he is distracted AND short on ammo. By the time he brings his turret around, he can only get one shot, and I've already gone through 3/4ths his Shield. If he had hardeners, he could've stood a chance. I ram and slide under after doing 1/4th dmg to his armor, but he teleports 40 meters away in a retreat (laggy match). I give chase with a Nitro. He re-engages, and I slide out of reach of his aim, tanking only 3 shots. He 's down to minimal health, and mine is at half, and repping. Two Booms. We've killed each other. All in a Creodron HAV. My fit: Basic Nitro Enh Rep Basic/Enh. Plate (dunno which) Basic Armor Hardener STD Blaster Give the Magsex some love.

For a Maddie I love two plates and a hardener for my lows, have had (barely) 100% success this way, though you have to be married to the Overview/TacNet for this to work.
