I have never seen a sniper in an PC battle...EVER So, i was lying in bed one night after playing a domination on the map called Border Gulch (search the address to see what is looks like forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=107463&find=unread) and i went for a speedhack on alpha...BAM! A sniper sitting on the top tower (E9 in the image at the web address) had a clear line of sight of the objective. This happened to almost every other team member until an ADS pilot blew him up. Why not use this strategy in PC battles? No more 2 tanks and 2 scouts guarding homepoint. All you need is a charge sniper rifle user with damage mods to one-shot everyone that tries to take homepoint! And an AV player to stop vehicles blocking the sniper's line of sight.
Anyone ever seen this strategy implemented in a PC before? Next Coproration battle i am in i will ask the co-ordinator to use this
scout ck.0 here!

I'm sure it works great for single hackers that stand still, but you'll have a hard time breaking a bricked out fatsuit that wiggles while hacking, and if two or three scouts all go for it it'll be hacked before you pop off your second shot. |

tards r us is the only person i seen(noticed) sniping in a PC match. they are very rare as most FC/GC's view them as useless...
You can make use of a sniper, but its not often done.

Most team's hack a few at a time...or at least they will if they're smart and you've tipped your hand by killing someone, so at best you stop one hack.
Forges (or even a well placed RR) tend to be better defenders of home points in PC because of their flexibility to do other things, and most FCs I've talked to (including me) don't like snipers on overwatch because it takes away one person from doing other things.
Snipers are also extremely vulnerable to dropships and countersniping. |

They would've had more use when their range was 600m. Same as when large railguns had a 600m range.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

Can't say I've had a PC match on that map, does it have an objective at domination 'A' point? Because in Skirmish I've never seen one there.
As other people have said, forge guns do it better, because you can down the dropship that comes to get you as well. |

Yeah, Gemcutter could do it.
If there is a viable form of an overwatch sniper it'll be a commando that is also carrying swarms. Even then a forge is more useful because of the extended range versus swarms.

Swarms don't miss. I actually use snipers in PC when I FC on occasion, due to the fact it really eliminanates so many people that can be overwhelmed at home point. I do disagree with sniping on top of MCCs however, but that's me
