Play a logi or commando problem solved or do just side arms no cloak you die a lot, but those kills are all the more tasty.

With the introduction of the cloak, scouts went from the hardest suit to master to the easiest.

Much of the backlash is related to this observation.

Hell, even I run scout most of the time.

I feel your pain. The scout role was not only harder and more respected back then, it was also generally more fun. While I don't agree to the idea of Scout 514 even being a thing (seriously, they're good, but if they're as OP as everyone says, how come every single person isn't using scouts?) I do believe they got far too much of a buff and it wouldn't hurt my feelings all that much to see them go back to the way they were before. People would still be complaining though, still calling you a scrub. You can flank and out maneuver your opponents all you want, but you're still just a scrub cloaker scout in their eyes, even if you're not using one.

Correction, the number of scout GK.0's speced into after the million clone challange dwarfed any other skill by a long shot.
Some of the ignorant refuse to spec into this OP gear because they love to hate this game.
